Lewandowski is dead set on a move to Bayern, so that is out of the question.

Jackson Martinez could be a possibility.

Porto never sell their top players in January, If any movement is going to happen in regards to Martinez...will occur at the end of the season.

If Costa is getable at £32m, we must get him. Geezer is an absolute beast. Would also take Dzeko. 50 times better than anything we currently have.

What happened to the Benteke...Superb?

---------------------------

Benteke had a good start to the season, got injured and then couldn't re-find his form after coming back from injury.

I suspect he wasn't fully recovered from his injury which is why he is out again and receiving further treatment.

I haven't changed my mind about him. Would love him at Chelsea.

As for Gary Hooper as I explained earlier that was just a name I was throwing out there to exemplify lesser known PL strikers who might be worth looking at.

I wasn't necessarily saying lets sign Hooper although he would definitely be better than the current crap we have.

"I wasn't necessarily saying lets sign Hooper although he would definitely be better than the current crap we have."

So you are basically saying...If there is a chance, club should sign him.

Benteke is

Torres will definitely go down as the biggest flop in the history of CFC.

--------------------------

Think you're over rating how bad he's been tbh like most do.

Veron just to name even one was much worse

Furthermore...the fact that you mooted his name, signifies you would entertain the idea of signing Hooper.

To be honest I'm pretty desperate when it comes to strikers.

I said before that I would swap strikeforces with most other Premiership sides which shows how desperate I've become and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only Chelsea fan who feels that way.

As for Hooper I would take him over any of our strikers. That was more the point I was going for although I wouldn't say no to him as our 3rd choice striker behind Lukaku and someone else.

By the way if you don't rate Benteke then that is your opinion. I'm not going to stop rating him just because he has gone through a lean patch in front of goal.

as a cheap fix i wouldnt mind a punt on shane long. hes quick good in the air and scores regularly for a lower to mid table team without great service. He frightened our defence quite easily.

Hooper

Superb, you are a top poster, and I find your ideas credible 99% of the time, but that ideas is as silly as your Redknapp for Chelsea idea.

Fack me you lot sure don't like Gary Hooper.

I'll say it again I wasn't necessarily saying lets sign Hooper. My point was we might want to look at cheap, lesser known players from within the Premiership as January is a notoriously difficult time to buy players, especially strikers.

As far as I'm concerned we are in an emergency situation. If we have to rely on our current three strikers until the end of the season then I think we can kiss goodbye to finishing top 4, especially if Utd come good.

Laugh at Hooper all you want but he has scored more PL goals this season than our three strikers put together.

The fact that a Norwich striker is outscoring all our strikers put together is a pretty sad state of affairs to say the least.

npe you've got a great memory. I only vaguely remember talking about Redknapp for Chelsea.

Still wouldn't say no to Arry at Chelsea if Jose left but in truth now I'd rather see Arry in a DOF football role.

Would be a damn site better than Emenalo.

Superb being a striker for CFC is different than being striker for Norwich.

I dont just mean that in terms of Champions league etc...but you are almost paying a completely different game as a a striker for a top 4 club.

Teams play differently Chelsea than they do agaisnt norwich.

Sure you have oscar to supply you (sadly Mata no longer plays for chelsea and will leave by the summer)....

but teams close space more, attack against you less, and far mroe technical skill is required.

I think we can win the league with this squad. thats not me saying this squad is great before someone cherry picks that quote and laughs at it.

its just how inconvincing everyone has ben and we do have the payers and supposedly the manager that can put a run together. we have been awful since august and yet we're two points off the top. how often do we praise utd for that?

so yes, we need a new striekr. but its not pronto urgent, i think a CM is more important actually.

and this squad has no excuses to finish below 4th. i think you are being a little dramatic superb. this team is better than spurs, utd and everton at least.

apologies for the typos in that article. its too late at night.

it does make sense hopefully

Superb I remember it because I just can't imagine 'Arry leaving our ground with his window open chatting to Sky...

He just wouldn't work at our club.

Although he wouldn't be silly enough to cut out Mata like Jose has done.

What's your beef with Emelano?

I disagree that we are better than Utd. We can only dream of having forwards like Van Persie and Rooney and if those two get their act together and stay injury free then Utd will shoot up the table.

Top 4 is far from certain as far as I'm guaranteed and if we don't strengthen there is every chance we won't finish top 4 in my opinion.

Will sell you Welbeck if you like? He's outscored all your strikers as well.

Have you not seen the calamity that is Utd's midfield and defence...

and I dont rate what Jose is doing with chelsea, and think the blaming on the board is just lazy.....

but even i think we will get top 4.

my point is there's every chance we won't get top 4 either way...

but do I honestly think we'll finish below four of this list:

Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Utd, Spurs, Everton, Newcastle.

The answer is no.

Also, I remember you saying Mata would still play

Sorry, haha, I cry over Mata these days.

Was talking about in the premier league. He's scored five in the prem, your strikers have five combined.

He has been playing recently for the most part. Just not particularly well

Do you reckon Mata will leave in Jan? With the world cup coming up he won't be going at this rate.

posted on 28/12/13

The old ignore Torres' Prem stats

And it's Jose's fault the position we are in the league
