He has been playing recently for the most part. Just not particularly well
-
He was great vs Swansea.
And anyone would be rubbish when played out of position and never given any games or rythm in the team.
That plus his ridiculous number of games has blunted him a litt.e But he has been a lot better than some say and Jose has got the wrong picture on him completely
Yes TCP, it is his fault. Also the responsibility of the players and the club collectively. But yes, a lot of it is down to the Special One...
hmmm.....he'd still make it in as things stand. Much of his competition have underperforme this year too...Cazorla has been very average and Isco has faded are examples of that.
But if I was Mata I would leave ASAP.
Have you not seen the calamity that is Utd's midfield and defence
---------------------------------
Have you not seen our central midfield and defence ?
We're playing a right back at left back because Cole is shot these days and our central midfield is almost as sorry looking as our strikers.
But if I was Mata I would leave ASAP.
He's got more stomach than you.
So Long
Isco has started playing well again, to be fair. Cazorla has been pretty average, I agree, but he's favoured a lot more in the Spanish set up than Mata is that even if he's playing below par he'll more than likely still go unless Mata plays and plays well.
Imagine being able to leave one of them out!
Superb are you honestly saying our defence and midfield is comparable to the joke which is Utd's backline....
people harp on....mostly without any constructive point....about Luiz.....and yet they have Evans who is a poor man Wes Brown, and Phil Jones who is a complete car crash and much more of a liablity than Luiz.
Ferdinand has been poor this season, and whilst Vidic is probably still world class....he is plagued by injuries.
Utd's midfield...superb....whatever you say about Mikel or the 2013 model of Essien.....Chelsea have no reason to fear Utd.
I know a lot of criticism has been levelled at Jose but I don't actually think the Chelsea squad is as good as people make out.
You've got a good collection of attacking mids, but your strikers are terrible, your cm's probably worse than ours, and your defence not what it was.
Yet Mourinho has you two points off of top. Pretty good going I'd say.
No offence with my Utd criticisms Darren.
I would love rooney or rvp.
And Janujaz looks immense prospect.
And I am really happy to see Fletcher back in football.
I also like Carrick too.
But I really dont rate Phil Jones. Or Moyes for that matter
Yet our terrible defence has only conceded four more than you.
Our problem is keeping a consistent backline and the players fit, as well as having a midfield that offers good protection and an attack that alleviates pressure.
Darren, it misses the point.
I dont care too much about results.
I dont want us grinding results or looking at through Joe's pragmatic specs...
I was looking for a move to progressive football.
Oscar clearly needs to move into CM. And we need to encourage creativity through layers like Mata.
We do have a team that can play great football.
Sorry but aside from Carrick, I wont agree with you.
Ramires is twice as good as any of your other midfielders, and half our board think he is rubbish.
Jones has been very good this season. I can understand not rating Moyes, he's a lot to prove, but I do think Jones has potential.
As I said, a consistent backline has been our biggest problem, especially with Rafael out injured, he's really important to our defence.
Yet our terrible defence has only conceded four more than you.
-
Uh huh. But when you play JT in a team that is looking to press that is what happens.
But I really rate our squad. I disagree with superb. If it had a DeRossi type, and a world class striker, it would be my perfect CFC squad.
Uh huh. But when you play JT in a team that is looking to press that is what happens
Agenda
Superb are you honestly saying our defence and midfield is comparable to the joke which is Utd's backline....
----------------------------
Yes I am. Brana is a CB playing at right back and our left back is actually a right back.
As for Utd's central midfield Carrick is much better than anything we have especially as Frank is coming to the end.
Fair enough, I can agree understand the results thing.
Will have to agree to disagree about the midfield, I'd rather have Cleverley or Jones in midfield than Ramires and I don't rate them as midfielders - that's how crap I think Ramires is.
We share similar problems. Both of our defences have good individuals but haven't looked up to much as a unit for a number of reasons.
Neither has a midfield befitting clubs of our status and we have managers that aren't as progressive as we would like.
Your have attackers we are lacking to create for our strikers whereas we have the strikers you need. I don't think there's much between us at all. I expect both to make top four, despite neither pulling up any trees.
It depends what you want from a team. I dont like what Jose is doing with Chelsea.
Rafael is criminally underrated.
Jones does have potential, I just get annoyed/very defensive over these sort of discussions....
I could be way off the mark....but I think there is a domestic bias with Jones in football discussions...he does have potential (I dont think he has been great this season, but I havent seen as much of him as you probably)....
he clearly has potential...but he has had some howlers....and people (arguably rightfully) give him a free pass for a lot of it or explain it away...
and yet players like Luiz are dressed up as a clown figure just because they are foreign and have a big haircut. He is no more of a liability than Jones.
We are in the same boat with Vida. We need more mobile cb's so we can push up, however, like you with JT, Vida is actually still our best cb.
Oscar clearly needs to move into CM. And we need to encourage creativity through players like Mata.
--------------------------
npe I found something we agree with
To be fair NPE, Luiz dresses himself up as a clown figure
Oscar clearly needs to move into CM.
But he doesn't though.
Emenalo needs to buy midfielders
I rate Luiz.
Jones hasn't made any mistake this season really. The problem is that it's difficult to judge him as a cb as he gets played all over.
I don't rate him as a top right back or dm but he's done well there, despite not really having the attributes I'd like to see in a player there. At cb he's looked good when he's played there, but he needs to play regularly before we can really judge where he ranks with the rest of the defenders in the league.
Ramires is probably the best CM to have in the final twenty minutes of a match. But again, agree to disagree.
Pundits (by the way I think they are idiots a lot of the time, so there opinion is of no weight - although I agree in this case) often really like Ramires....but he is a bit of a marmite player amongst CFC fans.
Mate, I appreciate and respect the comparison you make.
As I said, even if I rate Ramires, I am not sure he should start in a 4-2-3-1 and I know we need 1-2 better CMs.
But....why dont you start Kagawa more....does he really deserve to be benched for Young or Giggs?
Moyes did wonders at times for everton...but i find him very rigid and cautious as a manager. Sure he deserves time. I dont want Jose sacked either...I will give him time.
I am not sure how easy it is to get a settled back line.
Whats more important I think is to know what youre best back four, and that they have a great understanding, so that they can be referred to in big matches and in times when the team needs results.
Yes I am. Brana is a CB playing at right back and our left back is actually a right back.
As for Utd's central midfield Carrick is much better than anything we have especially as Frank is coming to the end.
-
BRANA IS A RB!
Offensively limited yes, but he is a BRILLIANT DEFENSIVE RB!
and a shaky CB.
I dont necessarily want him starting...but he is a RIGHT BACK!
Sorry. ....
I felt the need to use caps.
I think we have a better collection of CMs superb. And I think Rami is equal to carrick. And I like Carrick.
But again...opinions
