Mata doesn't seem to be being rotated though, he's being frozen out and humiliated to be honest
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He has started quite a lot recently.
"Rafa liked to play Moses often because he offered a bit of balance"
That's different though. Oscar/Hazard my have dropped out occasionally but played more often than not. Mata is lucky to start one game in 4.
come on RKR, there aren't articles about Hazard, Oscar, or Willian though. One player seems to be the odd one out at Chelsea and it's Mata
Not having a dig, half of Chelsea supporters and literally everyone else are scratching their heads over this one
although I can remember back in the day not understanding Jose leaving Robben or Cole out because they didn't defend enough (appparently)
opposition would giggle about it after getting a point or 3
i guess it's his nature to go for 1-0 rather than 2-1 or 3-1

Really ?
Wasn't many of them
OK, maybe that was just us then
You must remember how boring Benny's footy was then
But let me guess, that's different yeah
We're entitled to our own opinion and here's mine.
- mata doesn't suit Jose's winning style I play. I say winning because let's face it, he wins playing this way and who are we to argue? What have we won? Exactly I rest my case
Goodnight
He is still our best player.
Moreover, whatever you say about Oscar, Hazard, and Willibums pressing ability...from a creative and technical perspective he offers far more to the team.
Also take into account the amount of goals he scored last season, and compare that to the likely score ratios of our other attacking midfielders and strikers. Only Hazard will come close, and Lampard perhaps from CM might go on a goal spurt at some point...
I also don't think it is a surprise the worst football I have seen us play since the worst days of Andre Villas Boas, has been without Mata in the side. In fact, for every suppsoedly electrifying 45 mins vs Liverpool, we have dire matches like West Brom, and Steau (which may have been a draw and a win but were hideous games to watch).
I also would like to dispel the myth Mata brought this on himself and that he has been poor this season.
Converse to that view, he was statistically our best player vs Swansea in many aspects of the game. Morevoer, if you judge his season as a whole, it is hard to make a definitive judgement due to the fact he has been unable to have any rythm in the side, has been played out of position, and seldom is able to play in big games.
Hazard may be on fire now, but he was abysmal for large parts of our early season, yet he has been allowed to find his groove. Mata has been offered no such luxuries.
Of course, in addition to that, you have to take into account the amount of games Mata ha been playing in recent seasons.
Huge season last year, in which he carried us for much of it. Along side this, Olympics, Euros, the works...
I know Oscar had similar obligations, but that only is proof of Oscar's excellence (I am not asking Mata to replace him rather alongside him).
That's the everything anti Jose agenda poster btw
Who still harps for AVB, i kid you not
As for what he should do....
I think he should give it to the end of the season if he has faith in himself. I am hoping Jose isnt as ignorant as he seems....
However, truthfully, if I were him, with a world cup in jeopardy....I'd go now.....loan maybe to somewhere like Napoli, Atletico or PSG....
both rumoured to be interested (I know he is cup tied but nonetheless there interest may still be genuine)...
If Chelsea do not permit that....then express a wish to leave....obviously after the club's shabby treatment of him do not hand in an official request as that forfeits payments....but make it clear you want to go...
then leave ASAP...anywhere. United even, he owes no loyalty to us.
Personally. I think Jose doesnt rate for both subjective and footballing reasons. But it a lot of heat to sell him so soon after the 12/13 season in which was our talisman...
So wait a season....discredit him...never play him...deprive of rythm....and ta-da.....everything seems more palatable.
Hazard and mata play different positions, as simple as that. Mata is better centrally than Hazard and vice versa on the wing.
Oscar is much better suited in that number 10 role and he will be twice the player mata is when he reaches matas current age
What's your views on Jose hugging and joking with Luiz after the game NPE ?
Look like he's off to Barca in a few days ?

Wow, he will be better than Messi by that reckoning.

Not a film person. Who's in it ?
one thing we can all agree on is there is a very long list of sides who's system and results would be improved with Mata
