Ok we lost an FA cup tie, it was always going to be difficult as its arsenal, a top side, and we were drawn away.

Denied a clear pen to make it 2-2 which would have changed the game.

Nowhere near a hammering and Arsenal are counting their lucky stars they got through.

But they haven't achieved anything, which is why the lap of honour by the arsenal fans was bemusing, was it led by Howard Webb?

Given the choice I would much rather have won the recent league game than the cup match.

So not wound up as wizard of oz would want us to be...

Gibbs was consoling Sturridge at the end because Arsenal players are nice

Think Sturridge will be an Arsenal player next season anyway.

skrtel was poor yesterday with sanogo imo, didnt get a sniff vs agger

Even if you managed a draw with us it would have been through penalties. Then you would have had to find another goal from somewhere, maybe a third pen?

There is always a decision that is poor in games and all teams get their fair share of good and bad. Yes you could probably say Liverpool were unlucky with the decision yesterday but it doesn't mean they would have won the game. They might have drawn though!

I know, but it just seems weird, LlvL.

If they appreciated the Liverpool supporters so much, why not try to win the game for them then.

Surely that'd have been better than a cursory lap of shame?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The only lap of shame was done by the home team.

Technically we just applauded the away end...wasnt a lap of honour

Lexington, get Sahin signed first

Such despair at effectively dominated Arsenal at the Emirates

You don't always get what you deserve in football and between Howard Webb & some poor finishing Liverpool somehow ended up losing. It happens sometimes. We did help by playing Jones in goal. Brad, your a nice guy but in truth not good enough to be in goal for us at any point. You & our strikers made Flapianski look like Gordon Banks!

Don't take it as a sign that Arsenal have turned the corner though, that would be foolish. They still didn't look great yesterday and rode their luck to that result.

We'll see if Bayern bring their shooting boots?

Or perhaps had a replay?

Had to have a goal handed to you on a plate. If not for that it could've got really embarrassing for you.

Tsh... to think Arsene wasn't even that bothered by yesterday's match too...

Could say? It probably the clearest penalty decision I have ever seen.

Surprised Suarez wasn't booked when he took out Ox in our penalty area.

Weird place for him to commit a foul, I thought.

Arsenal fans are certainly lapping it up over yesterday's result

You would have thought they won a trophy with the way they are carrying on

Then again, with voyeur at the helm, he would do everything in his power to avoid actually winning a trophy and instead only doing the minimum that guarantees staying.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Or......you would have thought we'd just gone through a bad week and were relieved to win again?

You're being quite the towel about this

-------------------------
Your comment is ignorant. We're second in the league and haven't turned a corner, you're fourth and we've beaten you twice this season yet you have turned a corner?
You had good chances but you didn't take them and we did! There were never two penalties for you in that game.

-------------------------------
Now you are exaggerating, what you mean is it's the clearest penalty decision of late.

There's really no need for bitterness from either set of fans. It was a great game almost ruined by an awful Ref. Liverpool will disappointed for going out of the cup, but now they can focus on finishing as high up the league as possible.

"Did Brad Jones even touch the ball, apart from getting the ball out of the net."

-----

Not so much whilst it was in play.

Hence the 2 goals we scored.

"Arsenal fans are certainly lapping it up over yesterday's result"

Really?
There have been far more nonsesne articles like this from Liverpool fans than articles from Arsenal fans lapping anything up.

"You would have thought they won a trophy with the way they are carrying on"

No celebrating, no celebrating allowed.

"Then again, with voyeur at the helm, he would do everything in his power to avoid actually winning a trophy and instead only doing the minimum that guarantees staying"

Jose, you're not.

The game has gone, and while Arsenal won it wasn't in the cavalier manner that we swept them away. We've come on a lot in a short space of time.

We are at the very least equal to Arsenal, and with Arsenal having Wenger at the helm for 15 years and is having Rodgers at the helm for less than 2 years its fantastic to see us close the gap so dramatically.

We are on an upward curve, long may it continue.
