Who exactly should Wenger have been losing out to for a 4th place spot in recent years?
Spurs - what with their strong pedigree of CL finishes & trophy success?
Everton - again a CL Qualifier appearance behind them in 2005 and one top 4 place in about 20 years
Liverpool - taken to the brink of administration by dodgy American owners?
Wigan? Newcastle? Sunderland? Swansea?
What a great job with a CL budget
Looking back on these last two games against Arsenal, I cannot help but wonder what has happened to them. Up until the least season, they would repeatedly wipe the floor with us. Their short pass and move were, despite my team being on the receiving end, as a football fan, a joy to behold.
They can still pass and move, they can still carve a way through a defence as they did at Anfield last week. But, theres something missing, something's not there. This is not a wum. Up until now I wouldn't even dream of Liverpool beating Arsenal, but now it's reality.
I don't think changing the manager is the solution. Wenger in many ways is a class of his own. His response to Maureen's stupid comments was magnificent.
But there's something missing at Arsenal (Please don't expect some stupid quip from me on some future post; you will wait a long time).

So Podolski escapes a yellow card? Various other tackles you can point to but no 2 tackles from Gerrard must be a yellow card?
Even if it was this would have been after the second penalty...
Who are you to say how a team should celebrate? Last time we played Liverpool we were humiliated as a team and fans. Fast forward a week and we avenge the defeat with a win, and yet Liverpool fans say we celebrated too much? Quite unbelievable.

Yes it was, but you would have been down to 10 men. It's the same as you boys saying you were robbed by not getting the pen. Who's to say Gerrard would have scored it?
If Henchoz hadn't hand-ball'd to allow Owen to score, we wouldn't be bothered either.
...oh sorry, too far back?
Lap of honours should be reserved for trophy wins or last day of the season thanks to fans.
It's pretty obvious.
They have to change the manager to move forward. They can't shuffle him upstairs either. He has to go for the long term good. Paying him the money they are for the return is nuts. Especially when its the fans that are paying through the nose for it
Years of excuses & reasons why not...if they win the cup this year is all forgiven and here's to the next 9 years.
After the stick the players got over the previous 2 games, a win against Liverpool means they are perfectly entitled to celebrate how they want.
"Fast forward a week and we avenge the defeat with a win"

You didnt avenge anything. We put in one of the best performances of the PL era and demolished you.
Your win is clouded by dodgey referee decisions.

Wait......we SHOULD be criticised for not winning anything for 9 years....but when we do win anything we shouldn't celebrate it properly?

Please feel free to hold on to one victory, haven't had too many over us recently so can't blame you
That was a welcome 3 points for us.
Would certainly take those 3 points over an improbable FA cup win at the moment.
This is a poor WUM from the OP. 1 from me

The ironic thing is you havent let go of it either if you're calling yesterday's result "avenge"
But I though us hammering you was a fluke? A freak result?
Why is beating us any more special than beating anyone else?
It's just one game in the middlish round of a cup, against a team you think you are better than (comfortably, most of you).
It would be like us going on a lap of honour for beating Everton.
To win in the last 16 of the FA Cup should be bare minimum shouldn't it for a club of Arsenal's stature.
Job done, but the team knows they rode their luck. That's football. However, no laps of honour, what on earth was that about. They haven't repaid the fans yet! There are plenty more games and tests to come
Wenger has been the master of lowering expectations...a 'specialist' in it
Top 4 is all we ever hear from the club and fans.
So, again.Who in recent years based on all factors that go into developing a club should have been beating Arsenal for a Top 4 finish?
Who have Arsenal been performing wonders to 'beat' to that spot?

It isnt bothering me.
Im laughing at it. I even got it on replay now.
<---- See. Me laughing.
Chin up Liverpool fans, you could still win the 4th place trophy!
Come on now....we can't take that. Then they'll only be the Emirates Cup!
