Maybe I am but I don't see what can be gained by second guessing the manager or predicting failure because the club hasn't done something you want.

That type of attitude belongs on the Arsenal board. I thought we as Liverpool supporters were above that type of thing but it appears I am wrong.

Is that Glenghis sized hands or Bill Minty clown-sized hands?

If we didn't speculate and only commented on hard facts, there would be about one article a week on here.

What we're saying about Moreno is the same as what we were saying about Lovren a year ago.

Coentrao is injured until October so it's more "maybe sorted in about 2 months, assuming he doesn't have any further setbacks".

Fair point.

As a counter I would say the difference is Lovren had been good before, so there was a reference point that he could improve to, if he showed his Southampton form.

Has Moreno ever been good? I don't know, I saw barely anything of him at Sevilla. He was a highly rated young player, but it doesn't take much to be 'highly rated' these days, just being in the team at a young age is enough, irrespective of whether you are actually playing well.

He hasn't shown any form in 2 years with us. That's not to say he has been terrible every game, but the terrible games have never been far apart.

Also, I don't think Lovren is out of the woods yet. He has really upped his game and given his Liverpool career a chance that it didn't look like it would get, but there is some way to go before you can really say 'he's a top PL defender'. He needs to continue to show consistency and add more leadership, and a handful of goals to his game would be nice.

Moreno could turn his Liverpool career around, but it's looking very unlikely at the moment. I just don't see how he can stop being an idiot. I am not sure a manager can raise his IQ.

Chelsea are interested in a move for Germany left-back Jonas Hector, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

The Blues are in the market for a new left-back after allowing Baba Rahman to join Schalke on loan for the season and Cologne defender Hector has been identified as Antonio Conte's top target.

Hector has established himself as first-choice left-back for Germany and played in every game for his country at Euro 2016 this summer.

Lovren has really turned his Liverpool career around , took him long enough though! Let's hope he can continue to impress and I think he will now he is settled, relaxed and back believing in himself. He had a crisis of confidence which happens to many players but has recovered well.

you are joking aren't you?

he's like bambi on ice at his normal position!

We should put Lucas back into defense coz he done a good job there last year.

Sakho to RB, Clyne to LB, but then we would need a DM, so maybe we can move Lovren to there alongsode Hendo. Drop Can into the back line.

Should cover all the bases

Sakho shouldn't be allowed to play at CB, never mind LB. What a terrible idea

Sakho played left back once against Southampton back in Rodgers reign, when Lovren scored for Saints.

Even Rodgers wasn't silly enough to do it again.

I remember that game at home to Saints, we were horrific. Obviously lovren scored from the corner but the play that lead to it was pure comedy

Lovren gave away what should have been a stonewall pen on Studge that game.

Surprised no one's mentioned moving Moreno to left wing yet a la Glen Johnson.

What about Daniel Agger as a defensive midfielder anyone?

Would be absolutely livid if that came to pass. He is a superb left back, and is decent with set piece delivery too with his left foot.

I think superb is a little over the top? He's decent, but I certainly wouldn't get excited over him signing. Especially for 20M.
