Yeah, the whole thing is a disgrace
However, watching UEFA and FIFA, literally two of the most corrupt organisations on the planet suddenly jumping on their high horse about morals and integrity, well that takes the facking biscuit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree, but fack those two organisations. My outrage isn't anything to do with anything they say. It's to do with the owners and anybody who was involved in these talks from the club. Any statement the have ever put out about our history, the community, the city has been proven as PR BS that never meant a thing.
Literally turning their back on 130 years of being part of the football pyramid and the good things in the sport. If it ever happened I'd be done with the club. I wonder what impact this has on Klopp to be honest. I question whether his morals will mean he'll even want to be employed by us. It's an utter disgrace.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would there be relegation promotion?
Would it replace the pyramid or add another tier for the ultra ultra wealthy.
We wouldn't compete against those rich clubs, it would be stupidity if it was anything other than a replacement for the CL..
I’ve been struggling to enjoy football this year tbh. I was a supporter of the concept but VAR has been a disaster imo, the play acting and cheating has been putting me off for years and the lack of atmosphere from fans makes games difficult to enjoy for me.
I’ve basically stopped watching anything other than Liverpool games and now the club I’ve supported for close to 40 years are a driving force behind a breakaway league. Disappointed doesn’t even come close.
I never would have thought it would be possible to be as down on football as I am right now.

If it's a replacement for the CL then it's a wholly different matter to replacing the PL, and some of this outrage will have been unnecessary
I honestly can't imagine they were intending to take the club out of the PL a superleague wouldn't replace the income of CL + PL, there wouldn't be enough games

I have always maintained I rather watch Liverpool vs Burnley than liverpool vs Madrid. The clash of styles which we have in the PL is unique.
I think the club dont want to be left behind if they didn't sign up to it and the new league became successful.
Even if there is backtracking, even if the statement redefines backpedaling - their intentions are revealed. We know not only what they want but they’re prepared to lead the charge.
Until today I’d have said FSG have done a good job with the club. Now I want them out of the club. From this point on I will not support their ownership and I suspect many fans of many clubs will feel much the same.

In the last 12 months alone we’ve had:
Furloughing of the tea ladies
£100 club replica shirts
Project big picture
Now the European super league.
The real FSG.

Again
If it's a replacement for the CL what's the issue? I think everyone is getting carried away tbh.
The modern game is all about money. This all started with the introduction of the PL and CL in the early 90's.
The big spanish two and the chairman of Juve are the ones pushing this new league.
its not a replacement 4 CL.
UEFA r already looking intoo modifying that.
this is completely separate and if goes ahead, teams involved wud not b in CL or any other competition.

No it isn't, of the scarce information that's currently available it seems that it's to replace their participation in the CL.
The only reason clubs would now not be in other competitions is because UEFA and FIFA have handed together to protect UEFAs CL revenues.

From what I’ve read it’s not a replacement for the CL, it’s a breakaway. The CL would still exist, but wouldn’t have these teams. I’m assuming that’s what you meant anyway?
Problem with that is that it would make the existing European competitions pretty much worthless and would destroy the domestic league structures. Early shots fired from the FA/PL suggest that banning these clubs from all domestic competitions would be a possibility.
Messy stuff.

I'm not for or against anything I know so little about.
But it seems it's a separate midweek competition, to take up the CL matchweeks with a full league schedule.
Think about it from the club's perspective, no skimming from UEFA, and you would play on each CL/EL matchweek for the whole season instead of being knocked out. 20 guaranteed top tier games.
sky/premier league cant really take the moral highground can they?
maybe but if so is a ballzy n stoopid move tryin 2 strong arm UEFA in that way.
