though really, humans are more of a danger to wildlife than cats
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely. I used to be quite cynical about the whole climate change stuff, choosing to believe it was just part of the natural cycle of our planet. This is of course true, as it’s happened on numerous occasions before humans existed, but what can’t be denied is how much human activity is accelerating the process. We actually have the means to slow down or even reverse the natural cycle but we choose to accelerate it instead.

We’re a right nobhead of a race when you think about it....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Life must be miserable when you spend it beating yourself up.

the savanah analogy is odd, the lions numbers are kept up in balance with the rest, if humans suddenly bred them and chucked aload more lions out there youd probably have a problem
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How does that make the analogy odd?

He's saying the planet is in danger.

If people think that's beating yourself up then we are facked already.

Our cat is doing it’s bit to keep the average number of kills down in the UK. She’s so fat and lazy she’s never caught anything. Chases after birds and tries to catch mice all the time. She’s just shiiit at it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We had a fat lazy cat but she was a very efficient hunter... literally sitting still until something walked in to range of her paws.

I remember during William and Kates wedding she walked in holding a (still alive) baby rabbit in her mouth

What the hell are you going on about now? All I’m doing is educating myself as to what’s happening to the planet and the causes behind it.

Your post is nothing but an attempted dig at me. Keep it going if you want, there’s only one winner 👍

Oh, and if you want to talk about miserable lives, then maybe you should look back through your own catalogue of self pitying posts over the last twelve months or so.....

The world’s population is actually set to decrease. Apparently it’s going to peak around 2064 and then drop thereafter. The peak is going to be around 9.7 billion and then fall to around 8.8 billion by the end of the century. That’s a big drop....

Oh get lost, bloody drama queen. I couldn’t give a toss either way, I have no idea who you are ffs. Virtually everything you post stinks of insincerity and attention seeking. All you’re doing here is trying to turn other posters against me, you’re way too obvious.

You post telling me my life is miserable with no foundation, then play the mental health card when you don’t like my comeback. Grow up.

Well you do tend to be very emotional and deal in absolutes don't you but eating less meat and using less aeroplanes as a race would absolutely make a huge difference so you can calm down.

Fack off 1% of airplane users are responsible for over 50% of airplane emissions. How about stop lecturing the working class families saving up for 5 years to take a flight to Spain and tell all those elite caants to stop taking 20 "business trips" per year. Also humans are omnivores, not herbivores. If your diet relies on supplements it is not a viable diet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyone seen Seaspiracy? It seems commercial fishing is the biggest danger to the planet. Some of the figures quoted on that are staggering.

I need to see that Term. I’ve read a lot of it is factually inaccurate so will take it with a pinch of salt when I do.

It's based on old data and since there have been massive strides to replenish fish stocks apparently but it's still not great in that we do over fish.

Not seen the counter arguments tbh. But I’d assume the parts about dragging up the seabed and the amount of overcatch that are killed must be accurate to a point?

Think most of us haven't flown for 18 months for obvious reasons

Well October 2019 was the last time I stepped on a plane and my next booked trip was November 2020. Will try and get away this year.
