It all seems a bit silly as the dog has no way of knowing but as Irish says in typical Irishman fashion , any excuse for a piiss up works for me.

For a family dog you won't beat a lab (obvious) or a Staffie, it's a shame they have such negative opinions surrounding them because they are one of only three breeds that are recommended for working with children.

Whatever you do just remember that most dogs need mental stimulation as much, if not more than it does physical exercise, and the smarter the dog the more bored (and obsessive) it will get

I’m a long way from hipster!

I grew up with labs and retrievers, lovely dogs. I have a (slightly weird) thing about not wanting to recreate my childhood for my kids though so I’m not keen on getting either. Staffies are great dogs, one of my in-laws has a staffie and a rottie, both impeccably trained and they are amazing. Sadly what puts me off is the reaction they get from other people. Maybe I shouldn’t be concerned about that but I am a bit - I wouldn’t want people to worry about their kids coming to play with our kids.

Nah I totally get that, such a misunderstood breed but I've passed on ones that needed rehoming before for similar reasons.

We had a flat coat/collie cross growing up as the family dog and he preferred me to everyone else and my siblings had little affection for him as a result, the Lab we had was far less focussed and as such was a better family dog.

It's good they get to see each other, my parents have my dogs litter brother and the way they play together is amazing (and amusing)

It's beer o'clock for me after work, started at 5am, finish at 3pm

Neighbours kid had friends over last night and the fackers were playing basketball until 11:20 so I'm hanging today

City/Chelsea should be a good game, I’m hoping city get knocked the fack down out

I'm sat bored in the office today, so I'm even looking forward to Newcastle Vs West ham ffs.

Aware they are being given presents that day, and that their friends are coming over?

Not that different to doing it for a dog*, the only difference seems to be each individuals perception on how important a dog's life is

(*May also depend on how smart your dog is)

I must be a great person, as I’ve never heard any of those until now

So I see hollibob is another word for holiday?? Why?

I dont really get pets and ownership.

Cats - predators that kill animals and bring to you as a treat, insane.

Birds - hey let's take this flying thing, break its arms and put it in a cage so I can look at it, insane

Rabbits/Guinea pigs/Gerbils - hey let's take these highly sociable animals that like to burrow and put them in a cage alone where they can't burrow so I can look at it, insane.

Horses - oooh I love my horse so much that I'm going "break" it and harness it with a metal bolt in its mouth to control it and sit on it, insane.

Anyway pranks will you have security for this birthday soiree?
