I wont go on after this but there are 6 American players in the PL.

Antonee Robinson, Christian Pulisic, Tim Ream, DeAndre Yedlin, Owen Otasowie, Zack Steffen.

Pulisic came through Dortmund and the rest are muck.

Now Prem clubs could have missed out on a fantastic resource and the MLS does have some decent but aging talent every now and then but it's not a great standard by any means imo.

The 1% of players I have named are only examples, I wasn't going to list them all and besides I'm not a professional scout at a football club, it's just mere opinion.

It's not just American players though, it's other players that have come through the MLS background as well.

Giovanni Reyna isn't muck and he came through at New York City before moving to Dortmund.

Pulisic also developed in USA before moving to Dortmund as well.

I know they didn't become the players they are at that level, but they obviously had something at the time which attracted these bigger clubs to pick them up at the time when they were affordable.

So 10 years ago when only 1/2 teams were reaching the quarter finals, now 80-100% of sides are reaching the quarter final stages, therefore that is an improvement within itself.

There is nothing to say some of the players at that club cannot compete in the Premier League either just because we do not value anything outside of Europe to be as good as what we have when that's an inconclusive analysis anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I dont believe that teams that rarely reach the semi finals of the CONCAF, which will be their best teams btw, play in a league that have lots of players capable of cutting it in the Premier League. Far from it in fact.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well you don't have to believe it but that doesn't mean it isn't the case.

I'd say that Carlos Vela, Josef Martinez, Nicholas Lodeiro and Jonathan dos Santos, for example, all have the capabilities to play in the Premier League.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well done for finding 5 players out of hundreds that could be able to play for Newcastle.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've used 5 examples, as I've said, I'm not listing every player I think could play the PL level.

I did also say PL standard, I never said they would be top level PL players, just PL standard players, which they would be at Newcastle, if that's the level they could play at.

I think you've taken the examples I have set far too literally.

Loads of players are signed from outside of Europe, just not many from the states.

That’s nothing to do with the overall quality of the league though, with such a low amount it’s more likely a case of individual, natural talent being spotted.

posted on 19/4/21

That might not be down to them not being good enough though.

I know I'm possibly making it out like the MLS is one of the best leagues in the world, it's not, but it's better than what people think it is. I've watched it a few times and there are plenty of players I have seen that are potentially able to play in the Premier League, albeit even if it is for a bottom half side.

The quality of the league is better than you'd think and no it's not just individual talent. Some might not get picked up because of the expense of scouting, relocating etc. There are plenty of other factors rather than just quality of player.
