Some of those posters on here weren't around when we had Moores and the development of the club was stagnant and we were run like a championship club.
FSG have closed the gap with Man United and Arsenal in securing more commercial deals which enabled us to offer big wages. They are also trying to redevelop the Anfield Road stand which will mean more money coming into the club.
The owners know how to run sports. I dont want a middle east oil guy to take the club over.

A U-Turn is someone accepting they have done something wrong and changing tack to respond to it.
The balls to change your opinion about something when presented with superior evidence used to be a quality that people admired over blind stubbornness.
The posts on here today about FSG have been fackin laughable, which owners would people prefer?
Glazers? Leveraged buyout, taken hundreds of millions out of the club to pay for the purchase, and as dividends whilst failing to invest in the squad.. one of THE richest families in the world FFS.
Kroenke maybe? Arsenal fans don't even want him, no investment at all. A stagnant club slowly sinking down the table.
Perhaps we want a soulless oil company? Have Chelsea and City had their soul preserved? Have they fack.
Bedwetters seem to want to think the grass is always greener, but it really isn't if you look with even the slightest bit of impartiality
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And when you point them in the direction of hard evidence that the owners aren't holding out on us in terms of money, the head goes in the sand, no comeback but they'll be back again the next day moaning.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well.. wouldn't want to "U-turn" would they?
Hard headed morons displaying the traits that they would presumably prefer from our owners.
Should have kept furlough, shouldn't have changed stance on ticket prices, shouldn't have stopped the ESL plans.
Etc.

I'm just accounting for myself. If other people feel entitled enough to moan about our spend (which is comfortably in the top 1% of football) and go as far to simply lie that's up to them.

I'm more of a supporter than robbing on this logic
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think everyone is kind of missing the point. Robbings point was clearly around those that moan about the club not spending money, when they don't actually put anything in....not who is bestest supporter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's a stupid point though, it's not my job to own a club and provide managers with adequate funds, it is the job of any owner who wants to be recognised as a good one though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You don't think klopp has been provided adamant funds?!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I mean, it would of course be loads better if FSG threw 100m at klopp every year, we never had a settled squad, and we couldn't play in the CL due to FFP.
Loads better!!

Exactly right.
The Moore's fecked us by keeping us stranded in the 80s, then sold to two cowboys who didn't have the funds to actually purchase us and loaned the money for the club against its income, meaning their would be zip all for players.. which of course they then had to finance against their new sponsership deals
Facking idiot if you want FSG out.
As owners go we are lucky and fortunate to have FSG and their modus operandi.
Their sports teams experience success, they win the Red Sox their first MLB win in nearly a century, and then won it again, finally brought the Prem home and another CL trophy. Now it seems they want to add more football clubs to their portfolio. They know what they're doing and criticise all you want but whatever it is they do tends to lead to satisfactory levels of success.

Some fans are happy going back to the previous 30 years but most fans want the next step. FSG were fortunate with Klopp being available and the power of the club was able to attract him. Klopp then did his magic and made someone worth 142m who we sold and invested wisely.
Doing that again is not going to be easy especially with the age of the leading players. Ball is now in FSG court. Are we going to be Arsenal or someone who will challenge for the title again. They failed in Jan. Lets see what the summer brings.

Just because FFP has been relaxed doesn’t automatically mean we can spend daft money. We still need to spend within our means, it’s how we’ve operated since we were bought.
It’s pretty ridiculous that you keep banging the ‘lucky’ drum. Even when the owners do or achieve something that makes even you happy, you attribute it to blind luck. You say it was the power of the club that attracted Klopp, I’m pretty sure that the management team still had to sell the job to him. Michael Edwards has been an outstanding appointment by FSG, did they pick his name out of a hat or was he a shrewd signing by the owners?
I find it pretty bizarre how you basically make up narratives based on your negative opinions and run with them as if they’re common fact.
I've seen a few times it said that we're lucky to have Klopp and that he is long suffering and so on.
He's on £15,000,000 a year.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion but to write stuff that is blatantly wrong is just weird now.
There is no next step btw.
Of course we’re lucky to have Klopp. Whatever he earns doesn’t change that, he’d earn just as much and probably elsewhere.
Hopefully FSGs recent behaviour doesn’t make him want to leave earlier than he would have done.

There's that word ‘luck’ again. It’s unthinkable that FSG went all out and got the man they believed was the best person and the best fit for our club.
Fingers crossed that Klopp isn’t as petulant and childish as posters like yourself, you’ve not stopped whining about FSG. Of course they’ve made mistakes, there’s not one business owner in charge of running a multi billion dollar/pound company that doesn’t. They’re constantly trying to find ways to increase the revenue of the club, they’re not going to get every decision right. Most of the ideas behind the ESL were sound, our income would have risen dramatically, but as we all know it was also extremely flawed. But when they have made mistakes at least they publicly acknowledge them, there are plenty of owners out there that don’t. They’re far more engaging then some make out.
As I said earlier, your expectations of what you want out of an owner are wildly unrealistic.
Crikey, I was literally replying to Robbings comment where he mentioned luck Term, I didn’t bring even bring the word up. Bit over the top.
We are lucky to have him, he’s at least the second best manager in the world. The same way City are lucky to have Pep and it makes other teams envious. Really don’t see what’s wrong about that.

Maybe I took your use of the word out of context, apologies if I did 👍
But I stand by the rest of it. IMO, the overreactions to every single perceived wrong is ridiculous. The good that PSG have done for this club far outweigh the mistakes or errors of judgement.

No I agree but he'd likely have been sacked elsewhere too. I'm not saying I'm not happy to have him but it's palmed off as some kind of fluke when in reality the board have targeted their choice and gone and got them. That's good.

Fair enough
People also talk about the coutinho money like we are lucky.. that money was the result of a smart investment, in a player with a high ceiling, previously highly rated who had fallen out of favour,
He had been targeted thanks to the clever appointment of a transfer committee in line with moneyball ideals, which prevented a manager signing players on a whim without significant evidence of their value.
He was nurtured by not one but TWO shrewd managerial appointments made by FSG, They didn't hesitate in firing their first man when the second was available either..
He was also sold on a fantastic deal, thanks to an amazing appointment by FSG, who negotiated a deal which also stopped Barca stealing Salah and Mane these last three years.
We then also benefitted from their really sensible commitment to use the money the club generates to grow the club rather than take dividends like the majority of other owners who see an assets value increase tenfold.
We weren't lucky or fortunate with the coutinho situation, it was the payoff from a series of business decisions being by a very smart group of men, who have managed to grow a highly successful sports hedge fund, and are seeking to expand in to other sports to replicate their successes.
It's also why we have such a high value squad, because we have continued to target underappreciated assets with a high potential ceiling, buying players in the bracket below/on the cusp of being world class and nurturing their talent.
Klopp isn't actually a good manager. He's just lucky that VVD and Salah and Alison etc are world class.
Isn't that the same logic that makes FSG lucky when in fact they chose to sign Klopp and Edwards (and the theoretical physicists in charge of statistical analysis FFS!!).
These guys know what they are doing and I'm far happier with them than an oil state.

Of course we’re lucky to have Klopp. Whatever he earns doesn’t change that, he’d earn just as much and probably elsewhere.
Hopefully FSGs recent behaviour doesn’t make him want to leave earlier than he would have done.

No I agree but he'd likely have been sacked elsewhere too. I'm not saying I'm not happy to have him but it's palmed off as some kind of fluke when in reality the board have targeted their choice and gone and got them. That's good.
