didnt watch it, saw some highlights, salah missed his usual sitter a 1v1? they had some good chances as did we. Nunez came off the bench and got an assist and a goal then?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Think the keeper saved it but yeah you'd usually bank him to bury those
----------------------------------------------------------------------
well keeper saves nunez 1v1 and he got nailed for it by some on here salah misses atleast 1 or 2 a game minimum.

Both get nailed for missing chances. Not sure what threads you are following.

Salah unbelievably is 2nd behind Haaland with goals in all comps for a PL side and this was supposed to be his crap season.

Was good to see some actual fight and physicality too.

Part of me thinks they're struggling mentally in the PL because they know it's already gone, because our CL performances show the quality is still there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think it's confidence also. Look when we went a goal up, the pressing, passing and moving at pace, with arrogance for lack of a better word, suddenly came back.

They should celebrate, it's only the 5th time they've made it out of the group stages apparently. We've won it more times than they've made the knockouts. Not to be patronising but this is an achievement for them.

All 3 kids looked good and with Bajcetic I don't want it to be a hype job. He is possibly the future and not the present.

posted on 2/11/22

bajcetic
2/3 duel wons
2/2 tackles

fabinho
3/9 duels won
0/2 tackles

Ramsey looked quite confident when he came on aswell

Don't want to p*ss on Bajcetic's chips because I think he looked good when he came on. But it's very different playing the final 5 mins against a team who are tired and probably a bit dispirited given Salah's goal took the wind out of their sails and absolutely gave us confidence.

He looked good in his own right, the comparisons to Fab don't mean much imo.

Yeah...that's the really bad side of stats

Taki needs to spend more time off Twitter

I thought my Salah stat was good but no one commented on it.

in the replays jones was involved in a lot of our good play, did he have a good game? did he play wide too?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He was getting a bit of stick on the matchthread but I thought he had a solid game overall, considering he was basically upfront on the left. Like Elliot, he shows for the ball even if he's made a mistake earlier in the game

I like what I've seen of Bajcetic so far. I remember him spooning a simple pass straight out of play in the friendly against United in preseason but he didn't let it affect him and he was definitely up for it last night. Boy needs double portions of scouse pie though. Looks like a gust of wind would knock him over.

Overall last night we looked more physically aggressive than we have done for the last few weeks. Their Georgian winger got kicked off the park which sometimes you have to resort to when things aren't going your way. Was good to see our nasty side for once.

Thought Jones was solid but unspectacular too. Got unlucky with that early chance as the ball from Salah had a bit too much zip on it. Got his own back by waiting too long to put Salah through for the 1v1 he mucked up. (Classic Jones holding onto the ball too long). Quite like Jones as a player though, especially in European games you need someone who is comfortable to hold onto the ball in midfield.

Yeah he does look better more advanced and he's coming back from a nasty injury, however I can see him dropping down the picking once Diaz and Jota are back.

Jones should really watch videos of Gundogan at Dortmund when Klopp was there.

Had the perfect balance of using his insane dribbling skills to hold onto the ball vs when to play the passes first time

posted on 2/11/22

i dont think the guy is going to change in regard to holding on the ball for so long, hes been at it since he broke through, its part of him
