Not convinced Barca are going to be a good place for us to look, De Jong will not come to us as he'll want a huge wage and whilst someone like Gavi would be excellent, I'm not sure he's exactly what we need right now given we have Elliot (even if Gavi is better)

Also it feels like ages since we bought someone form abroad who wasn't in the Portuguese League lol. Probably Konate? Has Klopp ever bought from Spain?

Caicedo will end up at Chelsea. Plus he was a United fan growing up.

It's a fair point now really. Ox in particular, he looks completely done to me with Fulham, et al, beckoning.

I feel we could do with a left footer in there too so would look at maybe Aouar or someone similar also.

We sure could do with a left sided midfielder for some balance tbh

Keita had his better games on the right. Only Thiago looks natural on the left compared to our other options. Obviously not including Jones & Carvalho here.

Aouar has discipline issues. Caqueret is the Lyon midfielder who makes their team tick.

There are options who easily could improve us

Because there's very little value in the market, it's bloody obvious we are desperate for a midfield which means that clubs will have us over a barrell. I just don't see that kind of decision being made when we can wait until the summer and have better value in the market.

If we are continuing to fall away from the top 4, I don't think the additional cost of signing in January is warranted. If we are closer, that may change things.

Think it's the opposite personally and the further we are away by Jan will mean they're more likely to open the purse strings.

Yeah but the way things are going by January we could be out of contention for Europe so spending that extra money may be a waste.

Couple of years ago when top 4 was under threat we were given a hologram and Kabak on loan.

Different circumstances though.

We were top that January, and I think we already had the Konate deal lined up so went with a loan instead of wasting £20m on someone who'd barely play.

Arthur was our hologram this year so now we just need the Kabak that actually plays

Worked a treat and won our last 12.

Appreciate it's pretty painful viewing at the moment but little perspective - we've qualified in a tough-ish CL group and we'll be having a break soon for the World Cup. Still think we'll make a proper run at Top4 afterwards.

Also, have to admit it's quite funny that just as we've started getting over our midfield injury issues, we've now got two defenders and two forwards out. That's besides Arthur being out before he properly features. All you can do is laugh at the rotten luck

normally yeah, luckily for us theres a world cup though

FSG probably had their worst transfer window ever last summer.

The second worse was when we didn't sign a CB replacement.

Klopp has also been kinda naive IMO.

Last summer we needed a proven forward to go with Nunez and at least 1 CM. (not one who was injured when we signed him and will probably never feature)
