This is what’s been so frustrating recently. We do all the hard work but can’t do the important bit.
I expect a big Saudi bid for Salah and I’d suggest we take it to usher in a new era under a new manager. I feel similarly about VVD but due to his position would prefer he stay. Not sure about him as captain though.

He spent £150m the summer after reaching the Europa final, he just bought duds. Also they collapsed quite spectacularly to finish 5th if I recall.

I think part of the problem with our finishing to be honest is the added pressure of constantly going 1-0 down.
Easier to miss a chance at 0-0 knowing you'll probably get another one than at 0-1 knowing you need to score virtually every chance or else you won't win.

Whoever comes in is gonna have to assess the squad and identify area they need to improve most to begin with. Think JKs leaving us with a talented squad still but this seasons raised some question marks for me on players like Diaz and for diff reasons (fitness) with players like Konate. The youth like last season with Elliott and Badgertits are the highlights this season in Bradley and Quansah and to a lesser extent Danns etc. Then theres players like Carvalho to come back who is doing well at hull and morton who has had another good loan.

Bayern are an anomaly, so don’t really count. It definitely won’t be us though, which is what you suggested.

The game Thursday isn't as cut and dried as some have made imo? score n the first 15-25 mins and they could flap a bit, of course they played well at Anfield but I have seen them a couple of other times this season and that looked a wee bit of an anomaly, cannot see them being as good again, tough to say you'll score enough but still a chance imo

Amorim does prefer playing with 10s rather than out and out wingers, it will be interesting if and when he joins how he will set the team up

Whoever comes in is gonna have to assess the squad and identify area they need to improve most to begin with. Think JKs leaving us with a talented squad still but this seasons raised some question marks for me on players like Diaz and for diff reasons (fitness) with players like Konate. The youth like last season with Elliott and Badgertits are the highlights this season in Bradley and Quansah and to a lesser extent Danns etc. Then theres players like Carvalho to come back who is doing well at hull and morton who has had another good loan.
