The game Thursday isn't as cut and dried as some have made imo? score n the first 15-25 mins and they could flap a bit, of course they played well at Anfield but I have seen them a couple of other times this season and that looked a wee bit of an anomaly, cannot see them being as good again, tough to say you'll score enough but still a chance imo
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Theres always a chance ofc, an early goal. But come on we aint keeping a clean sheet are we so we're gonna need a fair bit moe than 4 goals to win the tie. 6 or 7 be my bet.

Said we should be looking at them yeah and going for them, you suggested zero chance hes going as xabis staying, i said bayern will be going for him wouldnt be so sure and if they are then so should we.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t think he’ll leave, even for Bayern. Alonso will have no doubt wanted assurances about such things, and I doubt he would be so keen to stay if he thought they were going to lose their best players.

There’s a world of difference between Bayern getting a player from another team in Germany and someone like us going for them. No chance imo.

Dont think its likely but its the kind of player we should be in for. Work hard press well but bags of ability and skill to go with it.

If we were to land them we'd have had to put the leg work in well before like we did with AMA and VVD etc. Still stranger things have happened. But thats the profile of player i want us to sign, young exciting with steel to go with it.

He spent £150m the summer after reaching the Europa final, he just bought duds. Also they collapsed quite spectacularly to finish 5th if I recall.

Could be he's learned how to handle a big club better, but don't think he's good at dealing with the extra expectations.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is well known that he did not want Pepe. Any how looks like we will go for Amorin and he will have some big calls to make early on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think we need a CB, ball winning midfielder, and a striker than can actually put the ball in the net.

Nunez will never be a clinical striker.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
2 CB's
1 DM
LF
CF
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry I meant RF and not LF
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Very much doubt we’ll be buying five players.

Only need one CB to replace Matip, the other three are more than adequate.

Definitely a DM, Endo is a decent back up, no more.

RF probably agree. Need to decide if this is just a dip in Salah’s form, and if so, wanting him sold is pretty disrespectful considering what he’s given us for so long. Hopefully those at the club will have a better insight into that than any of us. Either way, we need to be preparing for his successor, though even this depends on how the new manager wants to set up, it may not be a like for like.

I’d say CF is the lowest of the priorities. We’ve just got to rely on Jota and Nunez between them to get enough. Jota will be first choice when fully fit, with the option of Nunez playing on the left.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If Amorin wants a back 3 then we will need 2 more
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure why buying five players is so outlandish with a new manager coming in. This summer will be more revolutionary than evolutionary as whoever the new manager is will have different ideas to Klopp and need different players to implement them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed, new manager and Salah possibly leaving means that's what will likely happen.

Two bad results in the business end of the season.

If these results happened in August or September nobody would be concerned.

A couple of weeks ago the general consensus was that there wouldn’t be a big overhaul of the squad, and that the new manager would work with what’s here with a few additions. Two bad results later and it’s now time to dismantle the squad.

I think that’s what he means.

I dont think a big overhaul is needed but the squad is quite stacked and not all of them will suit the new manager/plans either. Some who arent in now might get a chance, Carvalho for example maybe even Morton. So i can see a lot of movement. Incoming will depend on that too, might not have much choice regarding some players if they want out with Jurgen too such as Salah, even Trent.

Regarding the players…I’m sure we’ll put more emphasis and view the supposed declining players data and physical metrics before making any decisions about whether they’re useful or not

posted on 15/4/24

People want Salah gone when he has said himself that he will be here next season post Klopp and that he wants another crack at the CL. Saudi might offer 70-80m but he has to agree.

Let's not forget VVD was supposedly finished last season and this season he has been our best player. Mo was up there before AFCON/Injury too.

Yeah, it’s whether the club the club see recent form as a dip or a decline in certain players. We’ve seen it a few times where a player has looked finished only to bounce back the next season.

posted on 15/4/24

Personally I blame AFCON because every single time that tournament is on Salah is putting up unreal numbers only to come back a completely different player

14 goals and 8 assists in 20 games before he left.

It’s burnout from chasing the quad. We all believed in it but it doesn’t always have to end with happiness.

Surprised to see you say this as you were on VVD's case like a fly on sheet. Had to defend him from you numerous times and I explained he didn't have midfielders in front of him last season.

Salah also lost something's from January of last year but was still posting good numbers, it's not just since AFCON

Glad to see you finally agreeing with everything I've been saying for ages.
