its 1 league table, some teams get hard fixtures others get easy ones, simples..

though doesnt this mean pretty much no 'small' teams will get through to the knockout stage anymore (not that it happened that much anyway)

I like the draw. Some interesting games and some unknown quantities, which is something that I like about Europe, plus Real Madrid under the lights at Anfield is always special. That could be a great game.

I don’t know whether I like the new format or not yet, so let’s see, but the theory is that it’ll lead to less dead rubber matches in game week three.

There’s Alonso coming back to Anfield as a manager for the first time, which is a great story, AC Milan are still AC Milan and Leipzig is always a good game because they’re so open.

Can ask for more really. We won’t, but in isolation there’s no reason why we can’t win each game.

Delighted we’ve got Real at Anfield not at the Bernabeu but not expecting anything from that game, they always seem to beat us.

Last time we had a group of death we smoked it. Finishing top 8 might be tough with other teams having easier fixtures but the higher you finish the easier the game you get in the playoff.

Would love us to get over this RM hoodoo. Even a draw will do because they have beaten 6 times on the bounce.

Not liking this new format at the moment.

That draw is actually incredibly tough. On paper not even one easy game.

Real Madrid are Real Madrid. Leverkusen are league invincible’s. Leipzig have some dangerous players, Milan always tricky. PSV are Dutch champions? And Bologna and Girona had incredible seasons out of nowhere last season. Lille are probably the only decent game to have.

Add that to having West Ham in the cup, we literally get this every season, whereas City get away with it. Fuc*ed off with it.

Apparently we’re close to signing this guy Cesar Huerta and loaning him to the championship for the season.
