So Arsenal didn't sign a LCB/LB who is one of the best defenders in Seria A last season?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
At this point I'd say Quansah is a better back at LCB than him. He was bought by Arsenal as cover. Wasn't he sold to Basel by Roma for 10m only a couple years ago? Doesn't sound like Roma rated him. Only mentioned last season when Bologna had Motta. Let's wait and see what his level is before making these conclusions. Could also be a waste of money as much as a successful signing.

You have nothing to go on paisley you cant even name a single player we should have signed that some other club did. You justt expect us to be able to go out and sign anyone we want lol. not taking into consideration of a single factor of many that could prevent it being the case.

u live in an unrealistic universe, its no wonder u are obsessed with unicorns.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Your talking out of your arsenal. Are you seriously suggesting that in there are no other options available in the global footballing world that could provide some centre back cover to our withering thin options (in terms on numbers), because that's what you are doing.

"You justt expect us to be able to go out and sign anyone we want lol"

Anyway, i trust in the club and team assigned to transfers. I trust they have their model and restrictions and that theyll have valid reasons for why the window planned out how it did. Some of it in their control but a lot of it out of their control i imagine.

The fact we ended with none of these DMs and CBs these clowns above wanted so badly, does not mean the club/team/manager sat around with their thumbs up their backsides. As hundreds of potential targets were lost to other clubs. or w.e they must think we were doing based on how theyve reacted to the window.

What’s our budget and salary range?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
idk and i dont claim to know, its not really that timportant other than knowing we will obviously have one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But you’re the one banging on about within budget and in our salary range but you don’t know what it is either!

I don’t think anyone wants us going out spending over £100m and paying 500k a week but Alan Varela well with in our budget and salary range.

Zubi is not the only man in that position that would’ve improved us.

Window is now shut and there is nothing more we can do. I will just go by some of the statements where Slot said he is aiming for us to improve on 82 points and the club have decided that we can't improve on Endo.

Expecting another title run and silverware.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
There is the possibility that most of his is led by Slot. He might be determined to get things exactly how he wants them, and is starting by getting players on the periphery of the squad, players that he has no intention of using, out of the club.

He could have been given a list of players and said yes or no to some and if we can’t get who he wants then get no one, and we’ll look again in the next window.

It would all be a gamble on players staying fit, but maybe he thinks the change in approach will reduce that risk.

I'm sure there is, but them existing and the club being able to identify the right long term players for for our club is two different things. There's no guarantee that the player we actually do sign will work out for us, ever signing carries a level of risk. It's a process, not an event. It's not the supermarket where you pick things from a shelf. We must have metrics we look at and also how new players will work with current players. The field of available players is eventually massively narrowed down to a handful.

Rival clubs have a lot more money and we must be sly about things. Finished third last season, won a cup, back in CL. There's a chance to take our time and get things right and secure our future for the long term like we did when we signed Mane, Wij, Salah, VVD, Robbo, Fabinho and brought through TAA. The chemistry between these players during that era was no accident. I say let's see what they can cook up this time and hopefully it will be more of the same.

its one of the factors we have to consider, of which as i said theres many that contribute to whether we go for a player or not. or the player is willing to sign, or a club is willing to listen and sell. its basic stuff.

people are talking like you can just go out point at a player and thats it he comes in Varela, could have absolutely 0 interest moving to the prem rn. could have just had a kid and settling down. its not just us involved in transfers. theres endless scenarios where a deal cannot be done. as i said most of them not in our control.

we have a model/system we try our best, if its not right or doesnt happen it doesnt happen. And its not from neglect or tight owners or w.e people seem to think it is.

Were have they been slammed for not signing him?

The problem is we haven’t signed players to improve the area’s of the squad that glaringly need improving and have done for a while.

2 or 3 injuries at CB or DM and we are in the sh!t.

How many times have you seen him play? He’s had one season in Europe, so probably not many.

A quick check will tell you that Porto are playing with two deep lying midfielders in front of the back four. Nothing like we play, so how do you know he would improve us?

posted on 31/8/24

trying to claim theres loads of players available that would improve us is mental to me

firstly they have to make our shortlist aka a player we're willing to even look at. thats prob narrowed it down to hundreds if that. then theres hundreds of factors that would make most of them unattainable, again most out of our control be it the players side or his clubs.

years and years of klopp saying its not easy to improve us. but according to paisley and kls kash etc. it is.
