Yeah Diaz looks a different beast this season. Think he’s actually surprised a lot of people at how clinical he’s been. Hopefully he keeps it up and stays fit.

With a front 6 of Diaz,Jota,Salah,Gakpo,Nunez and Chiesa, we are the envy of European football.

That is a ridiculous array of forward options

Spalletti "Chiesa and I spoke and made a fair assessment. I would have brought him as an extra player, not participating in the games. He told me that he had spoken to his new club and that he needs to do specific preparation work with them,”

Can we talk about our captain yesterday.

He tickled the Man U captain like he was a dying dog
He mocked Onana's cowardly push
He told midget to dare to pick on him when he fouled Szobo and put him firmly in his place

VVD is the goat.

Does anyone else think that Rashford is one of the most overrated players of his generation or even this generation?

I don't think he's rated at all anymore. He was in the past but his stock has fallen.

Think Rashford is absolutely terrible. People got excited because he fed some kids but as a football player aside from the odd purple patch he’s really quite poor.

posted 2 weeks, 2 days ago

I thtink he's always been overrated to a certain extent by Utd fans. Hes capable but very inconsistent. Seems hes been around ages to say hes only 26 still. Hes a good player and i think the stats back it up tbf.

His best season was 19/20 he scored 17 with 7 assists in 31 apps in the league. Or a goal involvement every 110 mins.

a goal involvement every 147 mins is pretty good imo, 121 goals 48 assists in 24,873 minutes or 377 apps. But comes with massive spells of bad form, sulky body language on the pitch etc and 300k a week.

often labelled lazy etc.

Utd create absolutely nothing for him. Not having Shaw doesn’t help him one bit either, neither does having no other forwards of note.

He is what he is. Fast, decent balance and an exceptional striker of the ball.

It’s only Utds desperation that has led to him being on a very silly contract and massive exposure, and it’s that which creates resentment.

In reality he’s a decent home grown forward with a 1 in 3 strike rate.

Has the talent but seems to be deteriorating massively with the mental metal required to stay at the top.

Unlike Solanke who actually put in the hard work and worked his way back up

Aye factor in not the best team hes been in and it the goal involvement looks even better. He was picked out by their fans vs us but he still put in some lovely balls and prob shud have had an assist or 2. The ability is there.

Take away him being utd lad etc would have been interesting to see how he'd done if he moved and not signed 300k a week extension. The utd environment over the years prob ruined his mentality. Or you could argue hes been a mainstay and one of the biggest contributors to it.

Rashford would have had 2 assists Sunday if United didn't have the second coming of Fellaini up front. He drifts in and out of games but I still think he's their most dangerous player when on form. Clearly he has his issues though as he never seems to be enjoying his football.

We royally exposed golden boy Mainoo too. The hype on this player has been way over the top (ala Scholes). Give him the ball with space and he looks decent but that is just 10% of what a midfielder needs to do. The rest of his game is awful right now.

Both Chelsea & Utd are just terrible environments right now.

We had it with H&G. Arsenal had it too...although that was more their fans thinking they're the second coming of Pep's Barca

Rashford has everything a forward needs in terms of skills. I just think he's extremely limited intellectually. He therefore needs a strict father figure as a manager to to help him do what he needs to do as he's not capable of doing it himself.

He looks a real talent but he was up against a strong amd energetic midfield with Casemiro and Fernandes as he's partners who were both awful in terms of giving him help in their and in terms of getting in the ball and calming it down. He's supposed to be the kid of the three but it was the two experienced players who played like kids.

Mainoo is pretty mince without the ball, and also not very fast.

At 19 we saw many on here say that Elliot would never be able to play in midfield for the same reasons.

Technique generally wins though, and Mainoo has bags of it. He’ll be fine.

Be interesting to see Angel Gnomes in the England side actually.

aye judging any mf in a eth midfield atm seems harsh. hes a talent for sure ofc at his age hes gonna have to learn and improve areas of his game which he will. To what extent under ETH in that mf idk prob stifling him a bit.

Not judging the player. Judging more the hype job which always comes out of United fans. They never learn.

I can see Mainoo ending up and thriving as the furthest forward in the midfield 3 because his positioning when defending is quite poor and he often leaves quite a big hole in the middle.

It's not solely on him but I also don't think it's a total coincidence United regularly concede 15+ shots a game since he's been one of the deeper midfielders.
