My initial point was our fanbase needs to give up this idea that the club has this magical list of players and if any player is not on this list, the club just doesn't bother...because to me it's pretty obvious that if the price is right that list is very very tangible and our intentions are not dependent on the list per say but on how sweet the deal is

The subtle detail is we weren't actually willing to pay the release clause...which to me is what Sociedad used to convince him to stay
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be blunt, you don't know that. In the same way I don't know they were willing to trigger the release clause.
You've decided that's what you believe happened and that's fine but there were plenty of reports at the time saying we were willing to trigger. Quality journalists like Ornstein saying RS expect Zubi to leave - they wouldn't think that if we hadn't been willing to trigger.
On balance of probabilities I'm really not sure money was the issue. He just turned us down. It's really as simple as that imo. But that's just what I believe - I don't know for sure either.

He didn't have a release clause. It was a buyout clause, ie the player has to buy himself out. The club were willing to do that by all accounts and it was left to the player to then buy himself out. He changed his mind.

This is what happened with Neymar, PSG had to pay the player who paid the league I think.
who would want to burn bridges with their lifetime club..
In my mind we have a report on profiles of players that we know suit our system and if the opportunity arises for any of those players at any given time we will then make our move.
This method for me is nothing compared to what we did in the transfer market from 2015 to 2018...and I get the impression that a lot of our fans seem to think we have this elborate plan like we did when we first built Klopp's title winning team.
better change your name then

Trent Alexander-Arnold...
Joke, before I get pounced on.
Who’s everyone starting upfront against Bournemouth on Saturday then? Jota, Nunez or Gakpo?

I'd be starting Nunez and getting him up to speed to be the main striker for the season. The minutes he's been getting isn't going to work for him. However Jota has shown that he actually does better coming into the team after bench appearances. Also Jota has started several games in a row so it would be a worry in regards to when he's going to get injured. He needs to be managed.

Not really. I reckon if it was a release clause he'd be a Liverpool players as the club would have got sitting down with him. Whereas with the buyout his current club got sitting down with him.
How many minutes is chiesa going to get this season? assuming he ONLY plays RW
Well he played about 4 minutes on Tuesday so that’s a start.
my guess is around 1200 mins, so starts in some cup games and a few minutes at the end of matches, salah will want every other minute (or maybe slot does use him in a different position, but those are quite stacked aswell.. not overly concerned just curious tbh)
Chiesa is definitely going to be our Shaqiri this season. Gunna get a big goal somewhere this season and become a cult Italian hero.
I think Chiesa could be in the running to be a Salah replacement, will be very interesting to see how he's used this year.
Do you mean in the future is Salah doesn't renew?

Can't believe people are waanking over Zubi again. His indecision might cost us this season even if we buy him in Jan.

Have a horrible feeling this might be true, hopefully I'm wrong and Salah stays
Even after everything I said today, I refuse to believe the club is that daft lol

Chiesa is not a right winger. He prefers the left. Right wing is just something he can do.
Even more reason to worry
