Regardless of signings, can you honestly say that Rodgers has been good as a coach/manager this season? Which of our players have improved this season, and how many odd decisions and tactical choices has he made.

Consistently playing Gerrard out of sentiment,(Yesterday, last derby, straight back in for the Leicester match after our best performance of the season against Swansea) .

Moving our best CM to RWB to accommodate Gerrard.

Refusing to drop Lovren for ages despite poor performances consistently.

Playing Balotelli alone up front despite consistent poor performances. I'm not a fan at all, but it's clear he'd be a lot better with a partner

Playing slow, possession based football when we've always played better playing high intensity stuff.

Persisting with 3 at the back after struggling with it (TKT I know we disagree on this, let's not get into that again).

How many times have we had to change the system more than once during a game because it's not working? To me, that suggests poor planning.

The CL was just terrible.

BR hasn't helped himself at all this season at times. I'm not expecting performances like last seasons 5-1 vs Arsenal every game, but how many times have we actually played really well? City, Spurs, and Swansea are the only ones that come to mind off the top of my head

what mind altering substances are you on VC

they listened to the scouts. tried to buy the players.

the players said no when we asked them to come

that's our reality

............

I am still not seeing how this is the scouts fault Kaisers. These mind blowing substances must really be kicking in.

Help me out here.

"can you honestly say that Rodgers has been good as a coach/manager this season?"

I can't he's made some bad decisions. He did a good job turning around our form midway through the season though with a bold move.

On balance he hasn't had a good season. It's a mixture of bad decisions, good decisions (too late IMO though) and bad luck with injuries to key players.

but despite all that, we haven't underperformed in the bigger picture. We're more or less exactly where people predicted we'd be.

I didn't see the game yesterday so can't comment on it

We have been turgid to watch this season and i can count on one hand the number of decent games where we have played well

Whose fault is that?

Why have we stopped playing the pressing game from last season?

posted on 20/4/15

We've had injuries, but I don't thats an excuse really as the other teams around us have all had far worse.

It depends on your expectations whether we've underperformed or not. We lost Suarez, but it's up to BR to show that last season wasn't just about Suarez. If we're not a top 4 or trophy winning team without LS then I don't think the manager is good enough really, he's had £200million to spend whilst here.

I can understand the viewpoint that he deserves another season because of last season, but for me he's made too many mistakes.

The big question is

Do you think Rodgers has taken us as far as he can?

posted on 20/4/15

No I don't. I'm certain he can turn three loses this season into three wins next. I think he should see out his contract.

Have you been impressed with his work this season without Suarez

Do you think he has made good signings over the years he has been here

Do you think he deserved the job in the first place, what has he done in the game to deserve to be at Liverpool?

posted on 20/4/15

It doesn't depend on our expectations.

It depends on the clubs expectations.

Rodgers has said repeatedly the aims were CL qualification, and a trophy. A month ago he said we could finish 2nd.

He didn't have to say that repeatedly.

He said it because they were his targets. He must have felt they were realistic targets or he wouldn't have kept saying it.

Fans expectations are irrelevant in all of this.

FSG will sack him if he hasn't meant their targets, not if he hadn't met fans targets. Or they will accept reasons why he hasn't met their targets and give him a chance to put it right.

Fans expectations will have no bearing whatsoever on what FSG decide.

We showed in Suarez's 11 matches out banned that it wasn't just about him. Studge was aces and we won practically every match. 11 consecutive matches is a long time and more than enough to see if we could cope.

I can understand opposition supporters having a go about it being 'proven' we were all about Suarez but for someone who watches every week you should know better.

All last season it was SAS this and SAS that. 50 goals between them. Top 2 scorers in the league.

Now it's just 'Liverpool lost Suarez and now they're shiite.'

I understand it from the WUMs. I don't get it when it's a Liverpool supporter.

I am just saying that he knew Suarez was off and Sturridge is injury prone and he has not signed adequate replacements

What has happened to the high pressing game this season that he speaks so much about?

posted on 20/4/15

This is my take on BR

I think he has an overestimated opinion of his true worth.

He will comfortably keep you where you are now, but I don't think he will be able to bluff your owners for much longer with out any silverware.

TKT

Not everyone sings from the same hymn sheet, do people not have the right to voice their own opinion?

Does that constitute wumming?

posted on 20/4/15

when exactly was Studge injury prone?

He didn't miss any of the first season and he played 33 matches for us last season.

how did that even hint at the nightmare we had this season?

it didn't.

I think when you're so dogmatic in your view and only state your opinions after we've lost again it does yes.

VC

Pretty much. I do think that he will improve as a manager though.

Sturridge has always missed games

He thinks he has a hereditary injury and refuses to play unless 100% fit

So are you saying we basically put all our hopes on Sturridge...did we not have a Plan B

Surely that is poor mamnagement

I was very critical after the Southampton performance when we won 2-0 so don't jump on the "I only post when we lose" bandwagon

I don't get a chance to watch every game on TV due to work and I don't travel down for the games anymore

Does that stop me having a right to voice my opinion

posted on 20/4/15

Poor management yes, I think so, sackable offence? No that's silly.

Don't cry. Fact is your view point is dogmatic. If you could show me a positive post from yourself, in the interests of parity, I'll be surprised.

My opinion on Rodgers is well known and has been since day one

This, I think, is why a lot of people laugh at him.

He likes to talk the talk, which is fine if you have actually won something.

I've got a fairly long list of things I criticise BR for.

It just seems to me that some of you think losing our best player and biggest goal threat for the entire season (at the exact same time as selling a player much better than him) is something to be dismissed as 'excuses'.

It was just the sh&ttest bad timing / bad luck that could have happened.

Cry about what?

It is only a game after all but I am of an age when we won things and I would like to see it happen again but can't see it under our current management

I stated a few weeks ago that Rodgers wouldn't get a better chance to win a trophy this season and was mocked

Where are those mockers now I ask?
