Some of my mates prefer to just get someone else to put the dumbbell in their hands while they lie down, with their arms extended up
Yeah Danny. Bite the bullet and get a spot from one of the waxed monkeys.

Yeah that's all I mean. It's still a spot though, just for rep 1.
Oh and as for not talking to them just be impolite. Keep your headphones on at all times and in the future when they want to greet you just raise an arm or nod.
There's a guy at my place who will dedicatedly seek me out for a spot no matter what I am doing or where he is.
I usually say yes and it doesn't really get in the way of my workouts. But I cut the conversation off after 2 sentences for the above reasons.
Hello you filthy s, just cancelled my summer gym membership. I'm bored on train back to uni so you're gunna listen to me document my training experience, it's been interesting last 9 months how much I've learnt
I started in January first time in my life but despite gymming 3-4 times a week was the same weight in May as I was in Jan, which wasn't very encouraging. At this point I wasn't the most learned, I thought I'd just go in lift and see results. I was probs close to stopping gymming altogether but when I went on holiday to Mexico for 2 weeks I had like twice the amount of food I'd have (all inclusive), and gymmed at the same time. Was well surprised when I come home and see I've gained 5kg
At this point I start researching more about nutrition. Baring in mind I am/was quite skinny (just below 70kg @ 5"10) and basically started putting effort in actually increasing calorie intake. From then on I tried to hit at least 2700, some days I hit 3000, since then I've defo seen results. Rn I'm 81kg which is a weight gain faster than I thought possible (remember I was sub 70kg just ~4 months ago). Some has gone to my belly but noway near fat, not a problem yet. Defo gone to my chest, back, core and quads. Arms less so but they're a more endomorphic part of my body anyway. Currently focusing on arms and shoulders as a result. (Still doing legs and some back but no chest).
I also like looking back at how much of a gym nonce I was when I first started, I remember saying on here how I was struggling curling 5kg concentration curl! I could do 20kg for 5 reps before this tendonosis. Squats and benchpress also slowly but surely going up, both improved by 20kg since I started. I also thought you just had to eat more chicken tuna and turkey etc. Every now and then to see gains.
Pretty disappointed going to uni as it'll be harder for e to keep up calories and just less time with 9-4 lectures every day, might just get a little lazy and see what happens. will end up losing weight but maybe it'll be from me belly
As for my forearm tendonosis it's still there and still annoying. Having said that the only effort I put in for it to go was negative lightweight curls at start of half my workouts and stopping bicep workouts for 3-4 weeks. Think it got slightly better, but I was getting impatient and ss I said I then wanted my arms to grow more so do biceps again - only hammer/overhand grip though.
Lordosis I'm trying to work lower back, so have started deadlifts (so yeah only just started them in last 3 weeks which is pretty criminal) and do good mornings too (hamstrings more than lower back though?). I do think deadlifting has already helped me with posture whether that's psychologically or physiologically
