Go for Vardy

If he turns you down though, you may need to lower your expectations and go for the next best thing ... Ronaldo.

United, Vardy a great shout but Leicester will want ridiculous money due to form

is that N'Jie any good?

anytime ive seen him i havent been impressed, obviously you guys see him more

Ghodfather, hasn't exactly impressed so far apart from a superb cameo he did when he come in against city. Set up lamela beautifully for his goal. Does look a threat though but a little clumsy at the moment. Hoping he will get better with time but he's not a striker

I'd like Berahino at United, but unsure he would accept a bit part role.

Austin would be a good back up to Kane, but no idea how he's carried last seasons form into this one?

United, Austin still scoring goals mate.

Who? Aren't many good strikers that aren't in European competition. No point in buying someone for the sake of it.

I'm sure Austin said a few weeks ago he wouldn't leave in January as he wants to help them get promoted.

Austin or Ighalo would be two good and relatively cheap options. I would still love for Wanyama to join in the summer because if we lose Dier to injury we don't really have anyone else in the same mould.

posted on 23/11/15

How and why is Ighalo a relatively cheap option? He's the man scoring the goals which is keeping them afloat in the richest league in the world. Selling him for a 'relatively cheap' fee would be stupid considering how much money they could earn next year by him firing them to safety and more PL riches next season.

ledley, sake of what? we need a striker mate. I think you will be the first on here to complain if Kane picks up an injury and our form starts to drop off. We NEED a striker of some sort and it certainly wouldn't be for the sake of it as it's a position we are in desperate need of. If we want to continue challenging then levy can't make the same mistakes, end of story.

trust good old Donald to do some levy bashing

Its all well and good saying we should go out and buy a striker but we only play 1 up front and which decent frontman would join us knowing he would be a benchwarmer

Son is a decent frontman but Njie is a wide player ,cast your mind back a year or so and who would have thought that we had the answer sitting in our reserves

Please don't forget we have to find 400m plus over the next 3 years , spending has to be very limited and very careful

chronic, it's a subtle bit of bashing rather than a full out relentless levy article like normal

squiidy, if Kane get's injured mate then don't come on here complaining mate when we are struggling because that's what will happen. We play 1 upfront but doesn't mean we will always play that. Pochettino has mixed it up a few times and has gone 2 upfront. Plus the striker who comes in would be getting plenty of Europa games to. We need a striker mate. Son is not a striker.

don levy is a top chairman buddy

I agree with the point of this article. However in fairness to Levy its an extremely difficult task to achieve as any proven striker who would be willing to join us to sit on the bench probably wouldn't be of sufficient quality to replace Kane in event of (the almost certain) injury.

Looking at potential options for Jan who are proven (i.e. from the Prem or Chsp) I can't see any that are really realistic.

Austin - Won't want to be second choice and too similar in style to Kane
Berahino-Too expensive, West Brom likely won't sell to us on principle now, is he able to play the lone striker role?
Perez- Good player but unproven in the lone striker role, newcastle also likely wouldn't want to sell.
Same for Ighalo etc...

Our next best option therefore seems to take a gamble on a relative unknown or go all out for the likes of a big name Pato. Neither of these options however fills me hugely with confidence (Soldado) and couldn't see this appealing to Levy with the long awaited stadium.

My view then is that we pray and hope that Kane stays fit. We deserve a bit of luck by now don't we?

problem is its the euros... so strikers will wanna all play to get on the plane. and they know they will be behind kane.

maybe we could go for a forward who can play up top and wide, sell townsend.

When I say 'the sake of it', I mean it being someone good enough, Arsenal signed Kallstrom on loan 'for the sake of it' a couple of seasons ago, get my point?

Sorry but this Kane gets injured and we are stuffed nis nonsense ....I reckon we cannot afford to buy anotherstriker in case he does his ACL o his first training session

TBH we found Kane was good enough due to circumstance

We have a cracking squad and the last thing I want is some billy big boots causing dressing room probkems cos he cannot ddisplace Kane

ledley, I get your point . If you read my article I clearly state that I don't want another "saha and nelsen" so obviously I don't want any old striker but I certainly want a striker and I think we need to be going all out for it.
