Just to throw it out there, and change the topic slightly, i seem to recall you were a big fan of Benteke. With Sturridge back and Benteke being slightly out of favour, is he someone you would like to see Poch go after?
They'd never sell us Benteke in a million years. Sturridge is too flaky with injuries. Klopp apparently tried to sign him for Dortmund too.
I'd love him here myself, as he is a good goalscorer as well as being a physical beast of a 9. If Kane was out for any reason I'd have no qualms about him stepping in
The player I'd love is Lukaku, but again zero chance of that.
On balance I think Austin is my top preference short-term. The price is pretty low, he is a solid performer, has a good a round 9's game, and scored well last season in the PL. I think his attitude has been first class since relegation, he has just knuckled down and carried on. Like his non league roots, its a great grounding
Long term I'd like someone who is physical and big enough to play as a 9, but ideally someone with a bit of pace to get behind too. Such as Sturridge. I'm hoping Son or N'Jie may blossom in to this type of player

1 for now to be in first team squad and another 1 or 2 to be loaned out for future.
We really are short especially with no youngster in the youth system close to being ready if good enough at all.
This Dembele is the sort we need to buy and leave developing at his club for a season or 2.
I'd take Austin too - but from what we've been lead to believe Poch was offered him but didnt want to touch him. Not sure whether its because of this injury rumour or he just dont like the player full stop.

Henry was still a winger when he signed for Arsenal at 22, with a far less prolific record too. He is no Henry, but he is a big lad, has buckets of pace and loves running at people.
No guarantee, but I think it's a good possibility
As i just posted on another article, I'm happy enough with Son but he does seem to want a clear unchallenged attempt at goal before he pulls the trigger.
Less touches more shots please .
