I am actually slowly coming round to the fact that LVG will be here for the rest of the season

I can understand the board not wanting Jose but if they're sticking with LVG for that reason it shows how clueless the board are if they won't consider a third option.
Whether that be Blanc, Giggs, Allegri, Pochetino, Koeman or even Ranieri.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
If the bad results keep happening he won't. Say we draw against Swansea and lose to Newcastle and Liverpool.
There is literally no way he can stay. The media always get their man. Especially if that man has Manchester United down in 8th/9th (which will be where we are if those results happen)
Like Robb, I can understand reservations about Jose. No matter who you consider there will alway be reservations. But if the board don't even consider other options for the betterment of the team then what's the point?
My fear Robb is that LVG continues just to get the odd result to keep himself in a job so Ed can save a bit of face and Louis stays on to see his contract.

But surely now is the perfect time.
0 wins in 8
Lost 4 in a row
4 wins in 15
Transfer window about to start yet it looks like he is staying therefore he will be given even MORE cash to spend.
He doesn't deserve another penny to spend. He's spent millions and we are 5 pts adrift of 4th now.
He should be sacked. There needs to be a standard at this club and he's not up to it.

Completely agree.
However at this moment in time it looks like he is staying. Transfer window starts in 2 days and its obvious we need at least a couple of players therefore I can only conclude from that he will be given the money.

I am sure that they are considering other options but they don't have too many mid-season. Perhaps they don't want to run the risk of putting Giggs' nose out of joint by having him until the end of the season then replacing him with Pep or whoever. Might just think it best to stick with LVG til the summer.
Conte is my out of left field shout. Think he could be a good choice. He totally rejuvenated that Juve team.
I think the club is quite rightly worried that a manager who took his team of champions close to relegation is not a viable solution at Utd.
How can you improve things at Utd by getting someone who was doing a worse job than LvG
Makes no sense
I can only hope that if LVG is given until the summer. It's due to a nod and a wink from Pep that he wan't to come.
Mudd
That's such a silly argument. The guy has won 16 major titles in 12 years. His record speaks for itself.
I think it is too soon to be ruling Jose out... With Pep up for grabs, Jose will know that a huge merry-go-round will be taking place. I am sure Jose is wise enough to understand that he would be 2nd choice to Pep for alot of clubs and will wait out any major decisions until the summer.
Is Pep honestly a better manager than Jose??
A guy who yes has done well and plays an attractive brand of football yet really has been handed 2 of the best footballing teams I have seen in my lifetime
I think it'll be more of a surprise if jose doesn't get the gig than if he does...everything fits

So it makes no sense to buy Aguero over Vardy because Aguero is doing worse than Vardy at the moment?
Van Gaal is Woodward's man, letting him go would mean he's made a second fucck up in handling a failed tenure. He will be here till the end of the season at least.

close to relegation? ffs were not even half way through the season. have a day off
chelsea being where they are now is like Leicster, not gonna make a difference at seasons end, theyve never been in danger just like LC will never win this seasons title.

As does LvGs. But you want him gone because of his performance this season.
Does that logic only apply to LvG? Why does it not apply to Jose?

I find it hard to believe that Woodward has any/much input into selecting our managers.
As does LvGs.
