Well said Melton. It's sad we need a city fan to come and be more objective than a lot of United fans.
I always thought in time Moyes' reign might be looked on kinder after the next manager after him. Seems that's happening
The CL progression to me had more to do with a group of fergie players trying to salvage something from a disasterous season.
--------------------------------
I don't get this, Moyes gets credited with every failing that season, but nothing positive that happened. Why could the players not have upped their game for the league when top 4 was still acheivable, if it was that simple? Ultimately Moyes paid for not being good enough, rightly so, why try and lap anything positive he did do onto the players who were atrocious that season too. Though granted individually those players still were probably performing at a higher level bar Smalling, under Moyes.

Some people will never admit anything good Moyes did for whatever reason.
Once LVG gets sacked I will certainly credit him with some of the good he did
no you fecking wont.
it will be 6 article a day of " i told you so"
Some find it hard to understand that someone can do both good and bad when that's the case for everyone. Sadly Moyes did far more bad than good and LVG is doing so too IMO.
In recent days while debate over Jose has begun I've always maintained he is flawed and will bring both good and bad to the club (like anyone) but I've always felt unlike LVG and Moyes he has a very good chance of bringing more good than bad to the club.
Some people seem to think we need some Saint brought in who can do no wrong and is perfect. That isn't going to happen.

theres a difference between being a saint and someone who is a sandwich short of a picnic.
If you think someone who gouges the eyes of opposition bench members, acts like a complete unt like he did with eva and would fall out with his own shadow thats fine and your choice.
not mine though.
i think Jose has shown over the last 2 seasons at chelsea, as good as he is as a manager, as a person he seems to have some mental issues.

Exactly and ask any Chelsea fan what they think of Jose. Most wanted him to stay and the likes of Costa gone.
And yet the narrative is that Jose is evil and how dare he take over a job from the noble LVG. Weird.

Most of them weren't tools.
Busquets, maybe.
Sheriff
They hate him nearly as much as they hate Real. He did ok first time but nothing special, second time was a complete failure and he seemingly tried to do everything the fans didn't want.
I'm not arguing Moyes did a good job or even should have kept it, I argued at the time he should have been sacked sooner.
I'm just arguing using him as a comparative is a bit disingenuous, at least for me.
And Guardiola is a genius, there's a reason thr Bayern hierarchy have been saying what they have about him.
The other day I found an email my friend in Barcelona sent me the day we got LVG.
'He will suck the life out of Manchester and you will hate him jajajaja'
What Uli Hoeness said after LVG left Bayern is almost word for word true about LVG now.

He really didn't. The Barca we see now is because of Michels and Cryuff, the later a man who despises everything LVG stands for in football. The players at La Macia were taught the Barca way from the foundations Cryuff set in motion 30 odd years ago.
LVG gave a chance to players like Xavi and he deserves some credit there but he didn't make these players. He didn't create a way of playing that Barca continued to use and he is generally hated by all Barca fans.
He also alienated 2 of Barcas most talented players in recent years in Riquelme and Rivaldo.

Oh is he? My mistake then.
yeah talking about pep.
No doubt about it, van gaal left barca in worse shape than he found them.
fairly confident van gaal spent £20 mil on fabio rochemback, in 2002 that was a hell of a lot what a shambles of aa transfer
