David Moyes win % at Man Utd: 52.94%
LVG win % at Man Utd: 49.32%
----------------------------------------------------------------------
LvG played 22 more games
Please use stats properly
After 51 games:
Moyes 27 wins, LVG 28 wins.
Should clarify that in no way would I ever swap LVG for Moyes. Just that his record being so closely matched to Moyes' shows how poor he has been. Moyes was a complete embarrassment.

Absolutely no idea why you think that in order to compare two managers you need to judge them over the exact same number of games.

as a statistical projection... based on the evidence of current form ...atm if LVG played 20 more games the gap between the two would probably get larger... in all fairness to Moyes.
Neither have been good for the club.
Losing a few games recently has focused attention on results, and everyone seems to have forgotten how bloody awful the football's been to watch (bar three games last year that people always bang on about when they're making excuses for him).

22 more games to get it right.... (including a full summer and transfer window).
Using stats or knowledge... It is very hard to suggest he is doing any better.
Man United supporters would give Giggs all the support he wanted if he took over
Nope. He would be the same as moyes, wrong for the job. the fact he is alegendary player doesnt wash with me.
I'd give Giggs my full support like I did Moyes and LVG but like both I'd have big concerns over his ability to succeed. I feel there are better options out there, one of them currently available and better than all 3 above combined.

Agree with this.
I dont expect any Utd fan to agree with me(why would you)
But Utd were at the top for so long, its only natural that you'll go through a bad period, its happened to Utd before and the same thing is happening to Liverpool
SAF is almost impossible to replace, and i understand why most of you guys want Jose, cos you see him as guaranteed success. And i really hope you guys get him, cos if he cant win you the title, then no one will and honestly i cant see him winning it
You guys can deny it all you want but LVG is a good manager, fair enough it hasn't worked out for him at Utd, but it doesn't mean he's s(h)iiit. he definitely outperformed Jose this season

Jose has time and energy on his side... That's the issue I have.
LvG is not only playing dreadful football and getting poor results, he is out the door in 2017 (if he sees out his contract)... It is hard to see how the players can fully buy into his ideas, knowing he will soon be gone?
LVG is now worse than Moyes. I'm glad people now realise it.
Doesn't mean Moyes was a good choice. But LVG hasn't taken us any further than Moyes would have with the same time and resources.

I hear what you're saying but just because we have had prolonged success doesn't mean you have to then see a change. I feel that is used an an excuse. No reason why we can't continue to succeed or at least perform to a higher standard. We have everything to allow us to.
I don't think united fans expect success as a guarantee, but I feel many including myself think the club have made quite a few errors and are not playing to a level that I think is good enough. We should be doing better.

Just like LVG got vs Chelsea. And Jose didnt.

Not sure if there is anyone who wouldn't get support tbh.

But the clamor for a manager as despicable as Jose reeks of desperation.

Myths, myths, myths.
Jose can get his teams playing some great football and is hardly satan himself. It is all panto villain stuff with Jose.... sometimes it works, sometimes it fails.
As with any analysis, I'd say Mourinho has built up enough credit to say that this seasons results with Chelsea can be classed as an anomoly surely?
As stubborn as he is, I don't think he is past the point of learning or developing either. Much like Ferguson at a similar age, I imagine what he says and acts like publicly is different to what he feels personally.
Regardless of the last six months, he's still up there in terms of current managers working and further than that, up there with the greats.
I don't really get the arguments with character or a short amount of results though, by the same logic lvg has had the exact same falling out with players before and also taken a title winning side low in the table the subsequent season.
By all means don't want him for reasons of personal preference, the hypocrisy seems to be deep on all sides to be fair though.

not really, as long as the sample size is large enough - and moyes was in charge for c. 50 games, which is a reasonable number - then it is perfectly acceptable to compare them directly.
but if you want to compare the result of every single match the two managers shared, and ignore the other variables (eg money spent), then be my guest.

I think he'd be marvellous for the three years he'd be here, then as is the modern way you're on to the next manager to get the best out of a fairly consistent squad. City and Chelsea seem to have adapted to this well, United are perhaps in denial that the game's changed.
I get why fans are against Jose, I just personally have always liked him, enjoy the good and bad he brings, he's a character and one who gets results and does actually play well.
I've always maintained he's flawed but far better than any other realistic option.
Everyone is entitled to their view, I was always concerned with LVGs appointment and the issues we see with him were the issues that worries me, same goes with Moyes.
I'm not suggesting Jose will bring guaranteed success but with all things considered I feel he is the best choice.

He's been at the top end of management for quite some time now it wouldnt be out of the question if he was burnt out at this time.
