Ironically the Home Office is having had to relax immigration (low skilled workers) controls, to deal with the ongoing farming/agri crisis.
Seasonal worker uptake has seen a significant drop, (due to the Brexit result and devaluation of the Pound) which has adversely affected many agri businesses. Some have been hit by as much as a 10% reduction in productivity.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
immigration is up since brexit
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty much stands to reason if people think (post Brexit) it will be harder to get into the UK, there is a current increase.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How can we have a labour shortage if immigration is up, we already have open borders with Europe the rules can't be relaxed more than that. anyway, surely it would make more sense to advertise for jobs where we need staff, and bring the right number of people in accordingly. BTW some of the staff who come over to work in farming, agriculture are treated like sh!t. passports confiscated, paid well below minimum wage and end up doing worse jobs than they thought they were coming over to do.

Have you read the ONS figures?
Students alone account for around 60,000 of a net EU migration figure of 180k.
90% of agri workers in NI are foreign. The government (to date) has no contingency plan.
I was criticised many weeks ago for suggesting that many Banks would leave the UK.
Now it is happening, all over Europe, regardless.
Canary Wharf is essentially being asset stripped. The bedrock and most critical part that supports the UK economy is waving goodbye. If the government are prepared to let financial services suffer, I can’t see the agri industry being afforded much consideration?

I assume you haven't been following the SC hearing this week. This very question was asked, and the Gov QC was unable to provide an answer.
I had also touched on this earlier citing the Govs plans (yesterday) to amend employment rights (leave, maternity etc etc)

Wouldn’t necessarily agree that all those who voted to leave did so due to racial prejudices. There were some reasonable arguments made to sever ties with the EU. Unfortunately (IMO) these arguments are utterly frivolous when compared to the financial detriment of leaving.
Sadly many of our politicians and media have been afforded far too much freedom to spout absolute nonsense about the EU and the UK’s relationship with the bloc. Of late, seemingly on a daily basis.
Over the years Europe has been used as a perfect foil for the UK Government’s shortcomings. It’s much easier to attribute blame to a piece of legislation invoked by Brussels, (despite either receiving UK support, or a failure to vote) than accept accountability; and the subsequent consequences from their UK electorate.
So the next time the likes of Paul Nuttall blame “faceless bureaucrats” in the EU, (for failing to look out for the UK’s interests). Have a look at their voting history. If only to see what *they* did to protect UK interest(s). Predominantly the “faceless bureaucrats” have found to be from these shores.
http://www.votewatch.eu/en/term8-paul-nuttall-2.html
Thankfully each and every EU decision, Directive, regulation, policy initiative etc etc are published online for all to see. To hark back to yesterday and tax/welfare reform for example, have a look at the number of UK MEP’s who didn’t vote, or voted against the EU’s motion to combat tax evasion and VAT fraud:
http://www.votewatch.eu/en/term8-towards-a-definitive-vat-system-and-fighting-vat-fraud-motion-for-resolution-vote-resolution.html
IMO one of the main reasons why a large section of the establishment will be happy to see the back of the “meddling bureaucrats from Brussels.”
We haven't left yet so all these rights are still there and if we make all EU law UK law then it will stay that way. Amending is different from stripping. If they start taking away sick leave, maternity leave, holiday pay etc. who's gonna vote for them? Most people work and benefit from these things.

Whilst all EU legislation remains in place there is a desire from certain sections of the government to tear it up, post Brexit. To be honest that may be the only option.
If the government wants to enshrine all EU law into UK Law they don’t know where to find the Acts.
Many Acts are a combination of EU and UK statute. Some parts are retained in the UK, most not. Before the government can even begin the process, it firstly has to acquire the relevant instruments of EU legislation. The actual documented instruments. Forty three year’s worth.
The government will then have to re-write the legislation and put it before parliament. As with most bills it is likely they will be presented, amended, re-written etc many times before reaching the House of Lords. This could occupy parliament for years.
