Opinion on the Falklands please.
I assume you see this as British land that Argentina has no claim on?
Or not?
I would be far more sympathetic to the Palestinian cause if their people did not elect Hamas.
................................
They didn't until off the top of my head sometime in the 2000's...
Unless you don't know about the history of the area the mistreatment had been going on for many years before that.
Quite frankly if that is truly what has happened to you then that has worked out better than Israel could have ever dreamed.
They pushed and pushed the Palestinians until they got to a point where they elected someone like Hamas and now that is the very excuse to continue the mistreatment that created them in the first place.
I'd be impressed if it wasn't real people who have to suffer....
eye-opening article into how PC and pro muslim this site has become, disturbing that he is allowed to talk up hamas on here.

I thought we'd clarified this with Northern Ireland already but okay.
I don't really care which government claims ownership of the land.
Quite frankly if Estonia owned it that would be okay with me. Its the people living there that matter.
I wouldn't approve of any country coming along kicking the natives off and moving their own people in, regardless of whether they are Jewish, White, Black, Muslim or anything else.
They should be denounced as a racist and hate-filled organisation they are, not embraced as "friends".

Sorry are we talking about the highly effective killers with nice rhetoric.... the Israeli's or the quite ineffective killers with nasty rhetoric.... the Palestinians?

If Hamas laid down arms leading to the IDF to do the same Palestinians would still die at the hands of Israel. Israel has a monopoly on essential utilities in the area leading to poverty in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
Are you ok with this?

TBH Hamas aren't even in power in the West Bank yet despite this these people continue to suffer terribly, that Is why the idea ceasefires there is a joke, the ceasefires basically consist of letting Israel continue to mistreat people just with a reduced casualty rate.

When Argentina invaded you must have approved of Thatcher's actions then?
I was a little bit young to have much of an informed opinion on the matter.
I've never really looked into much either TBH. I've heard the accusation made that the Argentinians were somewhat encouraged into attacking or thinking that the island was there for the taking in order to get a big boost in the polls from having a war...
But TBH that could quite easily have just been someone who doesn't like Thatcher, although it does sound plausible.
Disclaimers based on what might have happened or the gaps in my knowledge aside once the conflict kicked off the decision to defend the islands is something I'd agree with as the locals wanted to remain under the British.

Is it reasonable to expect the people of Palestine to cede Israel's right to exist on land they occupied and were forced from? Particularly when Palestinians were then also forced into poverty by Israel following this.
I honestly can't understand who you can see the Palestinians as the aggressors in this instance when they were the one's forced into the current situation.

We are dealing with the here and now. You can't negotiate with another party if that party does not recognise your right to exist can you?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As much as you can argue for Palestine recognising Israel's right to exist. I would say that Israel is more reluctant to recognise Palestine's right to exist. After all it is Israel denying services, such as water, to Palestinian areas. Not the other way round.
The attitude of the Israeli government seems to be if physical force doesn't work poverty will. Add to that Israel continuing to encroach on Palestinian areas, such as building homes for Israelis in the West Bank.

Yep that goes without saying. However there seems to be a long way to go before either side are recognised as having a right to exist, as demonstrated on this article alone.
Without getting back in to mud flinging those who support Israel on here need to first acknowledge Israel has been the oppressor on more than one front.
On a side note I want to say I've enjoyed (for want of a better way of putting it) this discussion and don't see it the way Koemans put it earlier
