Spick and Dago are offensive terms to me for example

Kra ut and Frog I would say are not, as they are national foods - I do not get offended by the French calling us Rosbifs.

I do not care about Po m, Sassenach or Limey either for that matter, Paddy does not offend my Nan - Irish people actively use it - and Jock did not offend my Grandad.

Some would say Frog and Kra ut are definitely offensive though. Probably not French or German people though who I imagine could not give a flying fack.

Is it PC to use any of the above terms (not the first two)?

Are any ever used in a nasty way?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wouldn't say the words are outright offensive. However, they can be used offensively for sure.

Let's be honest, most people can read between the lines, and tell when it is just banter, or when there's a more sinister undertone.

But the point I was really driving at; if a French person tells you they don't like you calling them a Frog, what do you really lose, but not saying that, even if just in their company?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I would not lose anything by doing so, and of course would have no problem in not saying it if it offended someone.

However, is it then a blanket PC term, or one where you have to gauge reaction first and react accordingly?

For example, I would never dream of calling a black person the N word, even in a banter way. It is clearly offensive and not a PC thing to say.

With regards Frog, there will be PC warriors that wouod class that as flat out racist

I wouldn't say that it's racist to use the term Frog. However I wouldn't say it's acceptable either. It's not the 1950's anymore and we're not Alf Garnett. I'd like to think we've moved on from labelling person/persons based on which country they're from.

I do see your point. And there is no 100% answer.

I mean, I guess PC really should be considered grounds on which you should tread carefully. You know that some people are offended by a certain thing, so should tread carefully and use a bit of thought and tact when approaching the issue.

Unfortunately, there are a number of people who will be offended on other's behalf, which then gets peoples backs up.

In turn, this makes a movement which should be a positive, be used as a detrimental term towards those who believe in the idea of it, which is a shame.

Because it's not Political Correctness gone mad. It's a certain portion of society knowingly hijacking the issue to start a fight. Doesn't mean it should just be dismissed completely though, imo.

I think a more suitable title of the article would be "let's see how many times Sizzle can make a fool of himself"

I think Sizzle adds proof to my argument about people on the far left being fascist

Hitler: wants his people to get out of poverty - blames jews, poles, jehovah witnesses etc.
Trump: Want's universal health care, better jobs, more money for his people - blames Mexicans and Muslim's.
Sizzle: Wants to get rid of racism - blames anyone who so happens to be white.

The more and more I think of left the more and more I want to change political allegiance. The left just seem to have so much hatred towards certain groups when they do not reach their goals and it creates monsters like Trump and Hitler. I don't think you can deny there has historically been a relationship between Fascism and the left.

I really don't see what you're driving at here other than to be inflammatory. It's as ridiculous a statement as Sizzle has been guilty of all night

Just for the record why did a lot of you vote Brexit if a lot of you are denying it had anything to do with immigration. And if it did have something to do with immigration, why are you afraid of it? The whole world in the 21st century is built on revolving people movements around the globe. The USA, Australia, South Africa, South America, UK etc has all been colonised or the countries have been built on immigration at some time or another other the past 200 years. So you lot are in for a serious shock if you think Brexit is suddenly going to stop movement of people around Europe and the UK. Absolutely nothing to do with being left, right or centre. It is just human nature to try to better yourself.
