Is anyone actually surprised this has happened

Not at all and not surprised it was at Finsbury Park either given it's reputation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You don't find anything disgustingly wrong with that sentence?

Just like i don't think that those who kill in the name of ISIS are mentally ill.
...

I'd say killing people because you think a book is telling you you'll get a bunch of virgins in the sky castle is fairly mental.

Yet there isn't an actual book that says that unless the Daily Mail is a book.

This guy much like the idiots in London and Manchester were mentally ill.

I'm sure a whole new side debate could be created about whether we need to look at this whole 'war' from a psychological perspective.

Fair enough Ruiney, can't argue with that.

no more metal than believing in immaculate births etc.etc.etc.

They maybe vulnerable and radiaclalised, but not 'mentally' ill. Mental illness is a disease, not a objectional opinion.

Muslim or not, it's 1 mentally ill man killing innocent human beings. Not sure why the religion of the victims is important here chap.

RDD

I expect you to say the same the next time a Muslim engages in a terrorist attack.

Everybody on the planet has the ability to become mentally ill with the right triggers. The mind can be damaged or broken at any time and with the right combination of factors and outside influence it can deteriorate to the point of catastrophe

Where is the mosque with the worst reputation for hate preaching?

If you can't see that would paint a bullseye on it then you are just plain naive.

Right wing sentiment is growing rapidly are you stupid enough to think this wasn't going to happen.

I have said for ages this is innevitable unavoidable even.

Tolerance is being pushed to its limits and some idiots were bound to snap.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, we have had the opposite, minutes silences shows of love and unity solidarity, Manchester showed that the only way it knew how, a party.

But there's a growing group of idiots who don't think like that or cherish life.

Murder is discusting denying it is just plain moronic.

Why would someone do what they did.

When was the last arrest, or mention in the media, of hate preaching coming from that Mosque?

The sad thing is, like somebody said earlier, this is exactly what IS want.

We need to rally around and support the Muslim community just like we have with the others that were killed.

I'm not sure 'mentally ill' is accurate. In some cases, certainly, mental illness contributes to the vulnerability to sick ideas. But I think the truth is that sane humans sometimes to awful things. What does seem to be a common pattern is that people who kill lack the usual ability to recognise and sympathise with the humanity of the people they attack. Often Islamist terrorists turn out to have lived on the edge of society, felt excluded, and then found themselves included by the predatory types who encouraged them to blow themselves up. Or some are well integrated but going through that phase of adolescent hormonal angst. Or (Islamist and Islamophobe alike) they are persuaded to feel that the Other is a mortal threat to themselves and their tribe, and they don't see this generalised enemy simply as people anymore - and if they aren't people, there's no sympathy, and it becomes possible to contemplate doing terrible things.

That infamous mosque that you are referring which had Abu Hamza etc hate preaching was not attacked yesterday. It was another mosque in the area.

It had a bad reputation for 1 year in 2003, it was raided and then turned around by the local Muslim community.

You are suggesting that they did this because of Abu Hamza because nothing else has happened in that Mosque for 14 years.

You said tolerance has been pushed to the edge and somebody was bound to snap. Yet when people tell you the tolerance of people in the Middle East has been pushed to the edge and somebody is going to snap YOU have personally called them terrorist sympathisers.

What gives? Are you actually admitting these things happen for a reason?

-------
Therefore this attack could be said to be IS inspired.

It's also something that we've been saying for a while, they wanted a reprisal attack to create further division.

Easy way for the government to pee on all that is to classify it as it is - a terrorist attack.
