De Gea hasn’t had a good world cup. But the whole team has been shiiiiiiit. I don’t even think Costa can come out with any credit. He played well in one game.

just hope De Gea doesn't let it affect him when he comes back in a United shirt next season, if he wants to be the best he should improve on his penalty saving ability. He dived way too early today on all shots.

just stand up arms out and look massive in the goal FFS...generally puts off 2 or 3 of the pen takers at least

Yeah and even then he wasn’t amazing either.

De Gea’s penalty saving ability has been really bad for years now. He dives too early.

I don’t think it will effect him, Arab. He’s always been more confident playing for us. He has more trust and backing from the management, fans and media over here than in Spain.

Whether that’s right or wrong it’s just how it is. He’s a much, much better keeper for us than he is for Spain.

I wonder how much sacking the coach effected the team mentally. It’s a hard one to gauge because many of the issues Spain had are familiar ones for a few years now.

I think all the Spanish players were begging the FA to not sack Lopetegui even after the announcement was made, so I think it did affect them mentally.

It would appear so. Spain needs some big changes now. I wonder who will get the job. They’re gonna have a hard game in their next fixture in the Uefa nations league when they face world champions England in September.
