Has she got a point?

It's not discrimination is it, but racially insensitive. Just stupid.

But if that's all he's done and he's being absolutely taken to the cleaners then people need to lighten up.

Keep her mouth shut. It is simply becoming boring all this PC bollox

Did anyone see the other day that fire chief writing to fireman sam saying it should be changed to fire officer Sam

Of course she has a point. It isn't even about race, if someone kept using a Scouse accent to talk to a Manc - because all Northerners are the same - would get on your nerves I am sure.

Obviously there are more things to consider - but why would a coach need to put on a fake accent to talk to a player? Maybe that is just his thing, he talks like a Jamaican all the time - in which case it isn't discrimination towards Aluko. But if it is specific to Aluko because of her skin colour then it is obviously racial discrimination. A lot of factors, and both sides of the story, need to be heard before judgement can be made.

It's what aluko has said it is, ignorant. Why this couldn't all be sorted out behind closed doors god only knows but the FA f everything up.

Don't be stupid. If you went to an Indian guy and did an Indian accent most of the time you were talking to them, that's just racist.

It needed to be brought up.

Depends on the situation really. A lot of people mimic their friends and colleagues accents and talk pattern in banter.

Personally don't think it's a big deal, she should suck it up. But at the same time it's a bit insulting, and let's face it really stupid thing to do. . Is she after another da payout?

Yes but behind closed doors, disciplinary, instead now aluko, and everyone else is being dragged through the mud. Plus we don't know there relationship, if he done it just to her, if it was a one off or what. People here are so sensitive.

How do you know it was all the time though. Don't see any mention that it was constant unless i missed that bit then i apologise.
Then she complains about industrial language being used and being accused of being lazy. I mean come on ffs lighten up. She is in the wrong industry if she is complaining about that

Just don't do it! I don't. Do you?

I'm getting fairly bored with white people saying what others should be offended by.

It's pretty insulting though, if I worked abroad and somone always talked to me in a fake Irish accent I wouldn't stand for that.

Agree there is an element of PC outrage here, like there always is, but it's pretty demeaning towards her especially as she's of African descent and not Caribbean.

He sounds like one of these people who think they're hilarious but baiscally just repeat what funny people say, like he proably does Ali G impressions all the time.

Is Steve Mclaren or Joey Barton doing something wrong by trying to speak to media in French or Dutch accents? No, they're rightly laughed at for being idiots.

She needs to get a grip. If this is the biggest issue in her life right now she's living a pretty good life.

The FA covered up and then tried to blackmail Aluko after being ostracised from the squad. It's not like she didn't go through the right channels.

Getting bored by painting people with the same brush. Or people getting their knickers in a twist. All the things in the world, and people get upset about things like this or try and point score.

My ex manager was irish and she loved it when people bantered with her in an irish accent. Was hilarious watching back and forth.

He does sound like a nob doing it lol, but we don't know the situation.

Could of been

Aluko "do you want some jerk chicken"
GK coach " yerr monnn"

But we don't have all the details, find it weird people getting outraged about things we don't have all the information about.

Not the same though is it, they're trying (and failing in a hilarious manner) to assimilate into another culture, I wouldn't be a bit shocked if the coach used "banter" as his defense, and as we all shoudl know "banter" is probaly the worst word in the English language.

Maybe she liked it, would bother me as I'd find it very annoying and a bit patronising and I would quickly tell them to stop it.

I wouldn't walk across to the Indian lads on my floor here and start talking like Apu from the Simpsons, I feel embarassed even thinking about it

If you have the type of relationship with someone where they don't mind and it's all in jset that's once thing, but if you don't like it you have the right to say so.

I wonder if she asked him to stop it and he kept on doing it, if she didn't he would Iassume she was OK with it and would keep doing it, if she just went off and complained without ever saying it to him eithe rdirectly or indirecty then that's a different situation.

I worked down south for 2 yrs. Had the 'northern baaaastard' song sung plenty of times. Didn't bother me one bit and I gave it back
Had all the northern jokes and gave it back

It's called banter. Nothing was ever personal or crossed the line and I don't see this fake accent as out of order either

Yeah I'd agree Busby it doesn't sound malicious more him just being a bit stupid and unable to read a situation.
