Obsessed is somewhat hyperbolic but I’ll give you my thoughts.
1. Growing resentment to many things British including the flag.
2. Reclaiming its use - it’s been heavily by groups with negative connotations so they’re probably trying to change what people think of when they see the flag
3. The BBC has an axe to grind on the topic as they got pulled up on flags recently
4. Yes I’m sure it’s a tactic to keep and gain further support from those who are more proud of this country than others, don’t really see a problem with that even though we’re supposed to be ashamed of our foreigner-hating, evil country blah blah
5. I struggle to think of another country where the national flag is such an issue for people. Just because a country or a system isn’t perfect doesn’t mean that it’s not right to be proud of it. Perfection doesn’t exist.
6. It’s a nice looking flag 😂

I thought that it was the St George Flag that had been taken by the people I think you’re referencing.
I’m not sure how the policy statement from the government relates to the BBC. When I linked the article I was commenting on the government policy, not the company reporting on it.
I’m not sure who is making you feel ashamed of this country (hopefully not me, despite our political differences!). I would suggest people may feel more ashamed with the UK government as opposed to the UK as a whole.

We’ll see but honestly I don’t get it. I think some people are dumb and don’t understand the %’s. They think this 90% or 98% means they still have a chance of dying. The vaccine is 100% effective at getting any more than a bad cold, so if I’ve been jabbed I really couldn’t give a $hit if some young kid or someone that doesn’t want it hasn’t because it’s of no concern to me
But they’re making it out like its not 100% at severe covid, which is why I think so many morons are blindly thinking they could still die unless every man woman child and pet has been vaccinated.
Slimey from the government, but smart. But again I don’t get what their deal is and what they’re trying, they’ve always wanted an ID Card and it smells like they’re trying to get that done via COVID as a excuse, and travel is facked still because of Brexit but again COVID is being used as an excuse / barrier to hide the failings
Gets to the point where I seriously begin to wonder what the government are trying to get out of here. I ain’t a conspiracy theorist and think they’re loons (albeit for once they have actually been right about quite a lot) but even I’m really starting to smell something fishy going on here now as there’s no logic or basis for what is being strongly suggested

The vaccine isn’t 100% effective mate.
Some people will not be able to take the vaccine or it won’t improve their immunity. We also don’t know how long immunity lasts yet. There will be variants.
All that considered I agree the chances are now ridiculously low and decreasing by the week and the more the roll out continues.
Many of the rules and especially laws are pretty meaningless now. Imagine being in a country where you can be criminalised for popping next door for a cup of tea when around 50% of the adult population is vaccines and [tactically all the at risk groups?

Weird as well because initially for 3-4 months there won’t be any checks but then they’re going to bring in the checks, what’s the point doing it 3-4 months later. Bit like when they did the masks in supermarkets they brought it in after the first wave Lol

they wont bring it in, hospitality staff are not the police there to enforce these laws they bring in it is ridiculous, the majority of my staff wont have had the vaccine by then as they are young, are they not allowed to work then?

It’s a weird logic I can’t get my head round, if the vaccine works then why does it matter if a minority of people haven’t been vaccinated and if the vaccine doesn’t work then it’s still pointless anyway

We’ll see but honestly I don’t get it. I think some people are dumb and don’t understand the %’s. They think this 90% or 98% means they still have a chance of dying. The vaccine is 100% effective at getting any more than a bad cold, so if I’ve been jabbed I really couldn’t give a $hit if some young kid or someone that doesn’t want it hasn’t because it’s of no concern to me
But they’re making it out like its not 100% at severe covid, which is why I think so many morons are blindly thinking they could still die unless every man woman child and pet has been vaccinated.
Slimey from the government, but smart. But again I don’t get what their deal is and what they’re trying, they’ve always wanted an ID Card and it smells like they’re trying to get that done via COVID as a excuse, and travel is facked still because of Brexit but again COVID is being used as an excuse / barrier to hide the failings

Gets to the point where I seriously begin to wonder what the government are trying to get out of here. I ain’t a conspiracy theorist and think they’re loons (albeit for once they have actually been right about quite a lot) but even I’m really starting to smell something fishy going on here now as there’s no logic or basis for what is being strongly suggested

The vaccine isn’t 100% effective mate.
Some people will not be able to take the vaccine or it won’t improve their immunity. We also don’t know how long immunity lasts yet. There will be variants.
All that considered I agree the chances are now ridiculously low and decreasing by the week and the more the roll out continues.
Many of the rules and especially laws are pretty meaningless now. Imagine being in a country where you can be criminalised for popping next door for a cup of tea when around 50% of the adult population is vaccines and [tactically all the at risk groups?
