Nah mate. Listen to what he says. He acknowledges travel by aviation makes sense but everything around pubs is very unlikely and only when everyone has been offered a vaccine. It won’t happen.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sounds more like a nudge to get all the young adults vaccinated then he will quietly do away with the plans.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Could be.
I’ve already raised the issue that if the government don’t look to ease restrictions at least on the current timetable and set out a plan for International travel then the younger generations will see no rush or point in getting vaccinated. Why the government doesn’t recognise this is beyond me although it plays so well into the hands of the lockdown scientists.

Likewise statues are crucial emblems of white supremacy that must be removed, but once toppled they are a just a bit of stone - why are you complaining about them being ripped down?
The culture war only exists apparently when you try to defend something or fight back.

On flags, I think you'd have to be very autistic to not appreciate the importance of symbols as a way of uniting disparate groups of people behind a common cause. They're a reinforcement of the idea that we live in collaborative societies and not as individualist roving bands of hunter-gatherers. Not a single great feat (whether good or bad) has been achieved in human history without some kind of unifying set of values and some accompanying symbolism to represent those.
Think of the NASA logo, the Labour red rose, the Roman eagle, the Islamic crescent or the Christian cross ... every single meaningful cause in history has developed its own imagery to inspire people. They're an easy shorthand for shared values, goals and histories. There is no such thing as a collective without symbolism. "Flag shaagging" is an essential part of belonging to such a successful, social species. And if it's not flags, then it's something else - a hashtag, a blue heart emoji, or a raised fist.

Well if it includes as reported that people who have previously had the infection are also ok (vaccine/previous infection antibodies or tests) then obviously all youngsters will just go out and get deliberately infected if they don’t want the vaccine
But like chicken pox parties, just be having covid parties until they get infected and have antibodies then they’re free to join the club

It’s a weird logic I can’t get my head round, if the vaccine works then why does it matter if a minority of people haven’t been vaccinated and if the vaccine doesn’t work then it’s still pointless anyway
Like there’s no actual logic or adequate reasoning for it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Won’t happen
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We’ll see but honestly I don’t get it. I think some people are dumb and don’t understand the %’s. They think this 90% or 98% means they still have a chance of dying. The vaccine is 100% effective at getting any more than a bad cold, so if I’ve been jabbed I really couldn’t give a $hit if some young kid or someone that doesn’t want it hasn’t because it’s of no concern to me
But they’re making it out like its not 100% at severe covid, which is why I think so many morons are blindly thinking they could still die unless every man woman child and pet has been vaccinated.
Slimey from the government, but smart. But again I don’t get what their deal is and what they’re trying, they’ve always wanted an ID Card and it smells like they’re trying to get that done via COVID as a excuse, and travel is facked still because of Brexit but again COVID is being used as an excuse / barrier to hide the failings
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The vaccine isn’t 100% effective mate.
Some people will not be able to take the vaccine or it won’t improve their immunity. We also don’t know how long immunity lasts yet. There will be variants.
All that considered I agree the chances are now ridiculously low and decreasing by the week and the more the roll out continues.
Many of the rules and especially laws are pretty meaningless now. Imagine being in a country where you can be criminalised for popping next door for a cup of tea when around 50% of the adult population is vaccines and [tactically all the at risk groups?
Mental.

Power corrupts and absolute power....
Flags (plural) and statue (singular) are the most important right wing issues of the day to some.
I don't think they are, I think the whole argument about them is facile and an exercise in deflectionary tubthumping. I do not hate the country, I do not hate its history however I don't buy into legislating for 10 years in prison for attracking a statue with a bit of paint either.
Because I just dont buy into the anti-patriot nonsense according to Sat Nav and NPE I'm wrong for treating a trans person with a bit of respect.

Interesting that the different options you provide are all choices (to join a religion, to work for nasa, to join a political party) other than the Roman eagle, which I suspect people haven’t been a part of for over a millennium.
I have no problem with individual people feeling particularly strong towards a Union flag, it’s as relevant as feeling strongly towards anything else. My question is why is it the purview of government? If that makes me “very autistic” in your mind then that’s grand.

It can’t be 100% effective for people whose body won’t accept the vaccine or for other medicinal reasons can’t take it.

Mental.

?? It is 100% effective at severe covid / preventing death and hospitalisation

Ah sorry yeh I get that mate but what I meant was anyone that has had the vaccine has 100% protection after two doses from dying or being hospitalised

“If I am ever asked to produce my ID card as evidence that I am who I say I am, when I have done nothing wrong then I will take that card out of my wallet and physically eat it in the presence of whatever emanation of the state has demanded that I produce it”
What happened to him?

Flags (plural) and statue (singular) are the most important right wing issues of the day to some.
I don't think they are, I think the whole argument about them is facile and an exercise in deflectionary tubthumping. I do not hate the country, I do not hate its history however I don't buy into legislating for 10 years in prison for attracking a statue with a bit of paint either.
Because I just dont buy into the anti-patriot nonsense according to Sat Nav and NPE I'm wrong for treating a trans person with a bit of respect.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Interesting that the different options you provide are all choices (to join a religion, to work for nasa, to join a political party) other than the Roman eagle, which I suspect people haven’t been a part of for over a millennium.
I have no problem with individual people feeling particularly strong towards a Union flag, it’s as relevant as feeling strongly towards anything else. My question is why is it the purview of government? If that makes me “very autistic” in your mind then that’s grand.

This is the first I'm hearing about this. First reaction would be wtf did the teacher think was going to be the reaction? And from that, were they looking for a reaction, a bit of attention?

Agreed, Hec. But it is kinda like blaming women for wearing short skirts. I mean what do they think is gonna happen.
