WHAT must I do to go to the pub? You must prove you’ve had the jab, a natural immunity, or a recent negative test.
HOW will I prove my status?
The Government wants to add certificates to the NHS App, with a physical version for non-smartphone users.
WILL I have to social distance?
Not if you have the certificate.
WHAT if I’ve had no jab, don’t have antibodies or want a test?
You can go to pubs, bars or venues with social distancing.
WILL I need one to sit in a beer garden on April 12?No, these measures don’t affect the reopening then.

Imagine supermarkets and all other venues will follow suit.
It’s still flawed though, “antibodies in blood” so hypothetically you could just buy my blood if I’ve had the vaccine or had the virus and you could send that off as your sample and boom there’s your covid antibody passport
Good business though for people that have had the vaccine or the virus, sell a bit of their blood for £100 a go

Imagine they’ll scrap the antibody side when they realise it can be easily frauded
Testing will be off the table due to the cost of it
Then bang they’ve got what they need to ensure everyone gets the vaccine. Very strange why they’re pushing it so hard, would make me less keen to get it

We can force a reduction. Cap all rent to 30% of the mortgage cost and any unused property for 2 years goes on the market at auction. Absolutely fecking mental that so many house are empty.
Houses are build to be homes, not investments.
Oh, what's the problem with communism? 😉
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you’re talking about abolishing property rights. Yeah I don’t think that will happen and is totally immoral.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not suggesting it will happen. Just chewing the fat.
Exploiting people to rent forever and pay rent that is equivalent to a mortgage is immoral.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s providing them with an opportunity to live in a home that they don’t have a deposit for.
It’s like leasing cars as opposed to buying cars. There wouldn’t be half as many mercs on the road if leasing wasn’t as rife as it is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No it isn't. It is like forcing people to lease a car.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hahah no it isn’t. It’s exactly the same as leasing or buying a car. No difference at all. Cars are also extremely expensive these days hence why leasing is so popular because not everyone has enough dosh saved up to buy a car outright.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And most people buy a second hand car outright. Personally I think Martial is mental leasing a car. I would always choose to own.
Plus, with leasing cars the value decreases and you can buy the car at the given rate which is affordable. Housing will likely cost more, so it's a false equivalency.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The value of the car or house at the end is irrelevant that’s not what we’re debating here.
Buying means you need a huge lump sum and in most cases for buying a property you also need the monthly income to support the mortgage.
Leasing you need a much smaller lump sum and the monthly income to support the lease.
Apart from the mortgage side of things the process is the same with buying or leasing cars and buying or leasing property.
For most people you are able to drive a much better car by leasing that you can afford buying. The cost of the lease is more or less the equivalent of the depreciation of the value of the car. It enables you to get a brand new and better car for your money.
Arab got a brand new BMW probably £20k-£25k car. I don’t know how much money he has of course but if he bought instead of leasing or PCP then he would be getting a really really crap car for say £10k brand new or a second or third hand car with all sorts of problems ahead. A 7 year old version of his current brand new car but at any point he could be hit with a £2000 bill or a £1000 bill. A brand new car has a warranty so not really anything to pay in terms of repairs.
Renting a property can be the same. Let’s say you have £100k in the bank, you could use all of that to buy a home and that’s great. But some people would be happier keeping hold of their money or investing it elsewhere and just renting paying a set monthly amount with no real obligations. If you lose your job at the wrong time, let’s say during a global pandemic you can get out of your rental agreement with relative ease, just find a replacement tenant. If you’re forced to sell your property during such a time, your £100k investment could turn into £50k easily.
There’s pros and cons. I obviously believe in buying property or I wouldn’t buy them.
But I would certainly take this system (which I have also had to suffer from, it’s not like I bought my first property in 1987) over a complete nightmare like communism.
Police cars revolving light Making Covid certificates compulsory to enter pubs could ‘nudge’ young people to get the vaccine, government figures believe and why they want to push this so strongly.

Capitalism is better than communism and not being able to own your own home is a small price to pay for living in a capitalist economy.

I'll wade in on the Mohammed pics too.
It not illegal in this country, so pipe down loons.
However, considering how offensive it can be, it has no place in schools. Just as a teacher wearing jacket with a Natzi flag on isn't acceptable, or certain language isn't.
Sometimes we shouldn't need laws to know what is and isn't acceptable.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree with this. It’s hardly a smart move but I do think that there is a difference in reaction when it comes to Islam for some reason.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I disagree, there is a clear educational context for showing said photos and we cant internalise blasphemy laws.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What is the educational context that needs a pic of Mohammed?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty obvious, a discussion on censorship, French satire culture, and religious dogma.
I just flat out disagree with you here, it is not our job to internalise fatwas on the basis of hurt feelings and death threats. Hebdo was the prominent religious satire magazine in France, obviously its front covers should be studied on a discussion on censorship.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But that comes in at college level ed, not school.
Sure if a course focuses on censorship, it should be covered.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think freedom of expression and our views on the limits of that should be talked about really at any age really.
This would not happen now probably but when I was 11 the Danish bomb cartoon with the turban came out and our teacher gave each of us a print out with it on and we discussed it in class.
So, I don’t share your view I am afraid. I am not showing prnography here, I don’t see why there is an age bracket once the pupils are at an age where they sit in class and concentrate in a lesson.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, we will disagree here. As school classes are mandatory, I don't see what is to be gained with saying a picture of Mohammed, and showing a picture of Mohammed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If it ends a relatively recent Islamic hoodoo on blasphemy thats a real good thing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How does one have a picture of Mohammed, if there are no depictions of him? Was it really just a “stereotypical” image of an Arab that you’ve said is Mohammed? I guess one could argue about whether the lesson could have achieved its objectives without creating the image, I’m not an educator I wouldn’t know. In general though I hold no sympathy for those claiming offence, but that’s probably because I struggle to conceive how it could be offensive.
