I was just saying on that other thread how nice it was that you weren't posting it here
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Stringer can't read the bit where it says 'Marvel & DC' thread - he thought it said, 'Verbal diarrhoea and dribbling'.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's every Stringer comment isn't it?

He can in the MCU.

Tbf they’ll probably change his back story anyway.

Not really. Avengers was at its best when it focused on Loki

I liked the Thanos arc but the least compelling bits where when the heroes fought big CGI armies in Wakanda and then Avengers Compound.

No stakes no feeling
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's been a while since I've seen both films so could be forgetting if there was a reason why, but it is odd how in Black Panther they make a point that they have these advanced fighter jets, advanced weaponry, massive rhinos etc. but in IF they decide to fight the aliens in old school hand to hand combat

Btw is it ever explained how mere mortal Falcon is able to become the new Cap even though he's not a super soldier in any way ?

Or do they just conveniently glide over that bit and make him as strong and powerful as the Chris Evans Cap without any explanation ?

Just wanted to repost this question as it didn't get answered.

He opted against said serum if memory serves

He's not as strong and powerful as Evans Cap, it's more symbolic if I recall.

He didn't take the serum.

Who said he was as strong as cap? He's never shown to be on Caps level.

All comic book movies require a suspension of belief, even the good ones.

In The Dark Knight rises, the police confront Banes army, who are armed with guns. The police then charge them down whilst Banes army decide they will pretend that the guns in their hands don't exist.

AsI said I haven't watched the show. I assumed the new Captain America would possess the same abilities as the original Cap

Original Cap ran rings around Falcon (quite literally at the beginning of Winter Soldier...on your left). So basically this new Cap is just a pale imitation of the original Cap in terms of abilities, strength, power etc and not worthy to be his successor at all.

Definitely no need for me to watch the show then.

Oh totally.

It's just more that the whole point of Wakanda is that they're the most advanced civilization on earth, yet once the aliens break through the shield dome they're basically no different to the Romans.

Should have shown their advanced weaponry being overran hence the need to fight hand to hand, which probably would have helped up the stakes as NPE alluded to.

Didn't a lot of those jets, etc get destroyed when fighting Killmonger in BP? They probably didn't have time to rebuild everything by the time IW came around.

He's just taking up the title of Captain America.

As with all the MCU shows, you can probably watch a summarised youtube version, if you want to fill in any knowledge gaps.

Plus I'd rather see the battle they showed as opposed to drones and planes killing enemies.

It has to be said, despite requiring a suspension of belief, there are some plot holes and flaws in logican reasoning that could easily be fixed.
