Will Morris be prepared to pod out some of the Stoke compo though, or will he get someone who is available now, for free ?

£2m is a drop in the ocean Ang. It will go un-noticed and un-remarked.

However, the tide seems to have gone out and we are paddling in a smaller sea than previously
Why would cook come to Derby. Looks like they’ll be getting an investment when Wigan are sold.

Some managers can get excellent results out of the team they inherit. A few tweaks, a new left back and an inspirational manager is what is now needed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Time for Morris to make the right call - for once !
What a mess the club seem to be in, how on earth did we get here? I wouldn't have sacked GR but I don't mind him leaving. I've been fed up with his "style" of football and what the hell was he doing last Monday leaving out our 2 most skilful players. I saw Palmer's first game at Reading and he was great, I thought he would improve us but our manager thought otherwise. The team are far too old and do not seem fit enough. Goodbye Gary I hope you get all you deserve at that s**thole down the A50.
The next manager needs to be someone who can sort out the mess and get rid or the overpaid underachievers and bring in players from lower leagues and Scotland. I know just the man and I would like him to return as long as he leaves his overweight friends out and gets a young assistant.
Others I would like would be Warburton, Smith or Cook. No thank you to Pardew, Big Sam, Moyes, Lambert, Townsend etc.
I will miss his delusional interviews after the game where he told us the opposite of what I'd seen, usually starting with "I fink"
McCarthy would be my choice at this time. Cook is a good suggestion, as is Dean Smith, but either of those two would cost Derby to bring in.
Once again, I had such high hopes for the incoming Manager - Let down again. He probably won't care, but he will find that many Derby fans will turn against him. I don't think Derby fans will be flocking to pay homage to him like they do at Birmingham City.
Gary Rowett we 'aint got.

I could not agree more VC10. And I know the one you mean. Too late now I'm afraid. It's in the lap of MM now to choose the right man/woman.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
...given his apparent inability to coach his own position to any great effect then I doubt he'd fare well with the whole kit and caboodle... let him go back to Sunlun or wherever he came from.
No to Stimac, No to Warburton, No to McCarthy, No to Wassall.
Either wait for Chris Wilder to leave Blades, spend the compo on Johnson, or try Colin as he won't enjoy the PL and may be available for nowt given his achievement.
I think the important thing is not to rush this next appointment, and to ensure we get someone who knows how to build a team around Bryson, our saviour.
