Seems odd how 3 Pakistan players get jail for spot fixing despite it being a first time offence while Stokes who almost killed a man will be trimming someone bush for a few hours a week

lets understand one thing here OK? Stokes didn't go out to attack someone.. It wasn't premediated.. Unlike the Pakistani players who went out with the soul intention to commit fraud (which they did)

Predictions for the 2nd test?

Looking at the forecast, I don't think we'll get 5 days play.....but who needs all 5!!...it seems the weather is turning "British" again....so that be said, England have an advanatge.

However - it is at Lords.

p.s. Stayed at teh Hyatt last friday, and met all of the India players. Shastri is one miserable s0d. Don;t think he smiled at all.

Prediction - India win on day 4.

If the forecast is right then it looks like we'll struggle to get much play tomorrow and Friday looks a bit iffy as well. With the fragile batting line ups both teams seem to have though, there's definitely a chance for a potential positive result on day 5.

I'm reading that India may bring in Pujara most likely for Pandya which makes sense. Is Bhuvi fit? if so I assume he comes in for Yadav?

For us, Pope will be in for Malan and I assume he will bat at 4 although they might be tempted to move Bairstow up another place but I'd rather keep him down the order. Woakes/Moeen in for Stokes depending on the pitch and it'll probably be Woakes, especially as that gives us another right handed bat.

I reckon it'll be a draw with the weather and I think the batsmen will find this one a bit easier. England will improve the way they play Ashwin with their middle order now full of right handed batsmen. Our attack loses a bit of bite without Stokes.

Second highest scoring batsman in the country behind Rory Burns. He's a wicket keeper too so hopefully decent in the field. It seems that England are trying to counter the threat of Ashwin by having adding a couple of right handed batsmen to the XI.

I reckon the selectors would have had Joe Clarke in mind to come in as he was training with the squad but with Pope in mind. However with Pope's team mate Curran having the game he did, wouldn't be surprised if they decided to go for Pope instead.

I've not seen much of him but if he can have a good series here then it's not like there's someone to come back and take their place.

It's quite funny reading about the Stokes trial case and seeing "Mr Stokes" vs "Mr Hale" and "Mr Ali". It's like it keeps reading as Stokes had a bust up with Alex Hales (even though there is an s missing and he was on Stokes' side) and Moeen Ali. Imagine if that was the case here .

The latest comments from the police officer who showed up after the event shows Hales to be a bit of a worm, trying to claim he showed up after it all kicked off.

Looking forward to tomorrow, hoping for another cracking test match. I think India will bounce back to make it 1-1 as it at Lords but I think we will win the series.

The forecast looks pretty ugly for today so I'll be surprised if we get any play. At least we've got all the excitement of the trial and transfer deadline day to get us through the day.
