I don't know how Levy will see it but I thought we underachieved by not getting top 4. If Levy sees it that way, and given how last season ended, he probably doesn't want to keep spending under Ange, knowing he isn't totally convinced by him yet. We do need a good start next season to reassure everyone Ange is the right manager for us otherwise he'll be out of the door before Christmas.
not signing anyone cause need to get the Royal sale over the line
Happy with the work on the outgoings but the fact there has been so many shows we really left things late in that department.
We should be running a mile from £65m for Solanke, way overpriced

Who do we buy instead though that has Prem experience, scores, presses and is a good fit for the system ?
I’m not disagreeing with you, £65m is mental, but I think we either pay it or do not sign anyone suitable in that position.
West Ham have just spent £27m on a 31 year old who scored 12 goals last season - now that’s mental

I agree, it's a different world out there now, our other options are to play the kid's which would be Levy's preference
We won’t pay £65m for Solanke… it will be under £50m… plus a squad player… that’s if we do bid for him…
I’d be more inclined to go for Jonathan David & Eze…
Or Jonathan David & Chiesa… would cost around £50m for both…
Richy better be fit for start of season… or there will be major problems!!

Think Kulu at 9 is the back up plan
This is so like us though, a fairly positive season last year and then we just sort of stagnate. On the one hand we have some great talent pushing through, on the other hand we have some areas of weakness that need to be improved on immediately and we’ve done faaaack all about it for the 2 months the window has already been open

I’m all for giving Moore, Gray, Bergvall, Devine and Lankashear time - but in Lankashears case he might be going into the season as 1 of only 2 out and out strikers, which feels like a steep step up. Sure we will use Lulu there but still, 1 injury and he might end up playing significant Prem mins at this rate

Supply and demand - there is a massive supply issue with strikers as wide forwards have been in favour for ages now. The few that are available come at a hefty price.
That’s why Bournemouth want £65m for Solanke and Brentford allegedly still want £50m for Toney despite him having 1 year left.
Gyokeres - a player we could have bought from Coventry last summer for £20m is now valued at £70m after 1 good season in the Portuguese league.
The striker market is crazy at the moment
Unfortunately there are no more 30-40m Strikers sorry Levy
We should be all over Jonathan David… cheap at £20-25m…
Use the money that we got for Kane to buy Solanke…
Sell Solomon…
Job Done….

I’m not disagreeing, I think we massively lack ambition, but what Levy and Enic fail at gets lost sometimes and you will get the likes of Levyshire jumping down your throat and telling you we spent the 4th most last year.
