We should be all over Jonathan David… cheap at £20-25m…
Use the money that we got for Kane to buy Solanke…
Sell Solomon…
Job Done….
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd be happy with that. David and Solanke would really help address the lack of depth in attack. Levy looks like he's in Scrooge mode this window though so I can't see anything like that happening.
So we've stalled on signing Neto, rumoured to be Ange's number one target, and now City are flush with the Alvarez cash, they're making a move.
This is why we all hate Levy. If Chelsea, United, Arsenal, City or Liverpool wanted him, it would have happened by now. We stall to get the best deal without considering whether the smart move is tying someone down quickly. I'm sure Dev will be on here denying he was ever a prime target or that it's out of our control, but lets be honest, it's happened too many times to be coincidence. We're the common denominator in these delayed, stalled deals.
Neto is quality but can we really afford to spend so much on an injury prone player
City are able to take that risk as he’ll just be a rotation option for them
We would want to start him every week if possible so he’s likely break down

We know what we’re doing, it’s our usual. Let everyone else go first and then the player highest on our target list at the end we will pursue with low ball offers until the final couple of days where either we or they will cave. It will be Solanke as no one else seems seriously interested.

He's a nice guy but my god, he doesn't even remotely have the kind of charisma needed to carry off a 2 hour video. Most of the time he doesn't really have any kind of exclusive anyway. He just rattles on and on about nothing. I don't think i've made it past about 5 minutes. To have a lengthy youtube video and not have the and kind of timestamped chapter breakdown is both stupid and arrogant in equal measure.
It was also quite the achievement, on his podcast, to find the only man boring enough to make Ally look like the excitable one in Rob Guest. I'm sure they're both lovely people but lets be honest, they're so feckin' dull and frankly too diplomatic. I listen to The View From The Lane because at least they're willing to stick their necks out and actually have an opinion. Danny Kelly's rants about Conte felt like listening to a proper fan. Ally is too focused on not upsetting the club.

I understand where you're coming from but we've been here before so whilst it looks like I'm passing judgement before the window is over, I'm only really following the patterns of 20 years of ENIC. The original line was that we wanted Neto, Eze AND a striker. Now I'm no Russell Grant but something tells me we'll end up with one of them, likely Solanke having tried and failed to prise the other two more talented players from their clubs. Maybe it's the fault of the rumour mill for driving up expectation but the later this window goes without getting players in, the more you have to assume that targets haven't panned out as expected and panic is setting in.
