Its also not a waste of money, young players like that should be signed in the hope that they pay off (like Dele, Walker, maybe Spence now) and sometimes they don't come off.

Gil was a completely unique and different case.

Richy doesn't want to leave apparently as he thinks a move to Saudi will impact his place in the national team. We ain't gonna go for Solanke if Richy is still there. No chance.

I'm not even sure Solanke is all that good but I'd be game if it means getting shot of Richy. He's not a Spurs type for me.

…………………………………

No way in a million years, can we or are we just going to rely on just Richy up front…

We will bring in Solanke or another… with Richy staying….

If we get a good deal on Richy, we will replace him… all these people & the media, who post on one in / one out, are so wide of the mark. We are playing in Europe ffs… we will need 2 no.9’s…!!

Fairly confident that if he has a half decent season at Espanyol then we will get our money back on him - it was only £12m, even the skint Spanish clubs can afford that

Veliz gone to Espanyol on loan, following the failed loan to sevilla last year. Looks to be another absolute waste of money, just like gil

He’s only 20

Gil was 20 when we signed him 😂

Nothing wrong with signing young players, the problem I have is signing these spanish/south american players and then loaning them outside of the premier league/championship. Makes no sense

That 3 years has gone very quickly for him. It's been one big waste of time and money. I wasn't a Lamela fan but we'd have probably been better off keeping him for the last 3 years. One rabona goal trumps Gil's Spurs career.

Why? You don't believe they can develop elsewhere outwith our country?

Like Mount, Mitoma, Saliba, Alvarez etc etc?

Confirmed now by Paul O'keefe. Richy doesn't want to go to Saudi. We're stuck with him.

God, I hate Conte and his legacy of shiiiithouse signings.

You know, it's perfectly possible to understand why someone wouldn't want to go to Saudi BUT equally be pizzed off that they haven't.

Honestly, this place is turning into Twitter. Just an endless scramble to win the Virtue Signalling Trophy when, in truth, we're just Spurs fans that want the best for our club. On that basis, I don't rate him and I want rid. That's the only measure I'm taking. Also, let's be real here. Those that go to Saudi are feckin' raking it in. There's no real grounds for sympathy. He stands to earn 10x what he would in Europe.

Seems doubtful. Double sure, but he's not Neymar

Extreme

Now that is funny. That couldn't be further from the truth. Read my responses on political threads and you'll see why you're couldn't be more wrong.

Also, if the measure of 'extreme' is wanting one of your worst players to leave, then I hold my hands up. Bang me up for the most heinous of crimes, sure. On that basis, there isn't a football fan in the land that isn't extreme.

Solanke and Richarlison as striker options this season would be good

Only way we meet Solanke's release clause is if we sell Richy.

Or we don't sign either Neto or Eze. If all we end up with is Solanke up top heading into a European season, with no other marque signing, then that's pretty miserable. We defo need one of Neto or Eze to improve that first 11. Otherwise I really can't see where the gains are this year. Maybe in a few years for Gray and Bergvall but not now.

Richarlson one of the worst ? Come on …I remember the days of Gary Doherty up front

He did okay / good when played last season

His fitness record is what should be questioned

Mans still sleeping Kulu. Kool.

Yeah I agree we need a better striker than Richarlison but he's so far from being one of our worst players.

I’d be chuffed with him Solanke and Richarlson as the striker options

Lankshear to be loaned out to see what he can do ….didnt do Kane any harm even if he was underwhelming (milwall aside)

Never rated him. Not at Watford. Not at Everton. Not at Spurs.

When I said 'one of our worst players' obviously I meant current squad. If we're opening it up to every era then of course, he's not been that bad but significantly underwhelming considering his cost. I remember when he signed everyone saying 'he's Brazil's number 9' but I simply said that that was a stain on Brazil's lack of depth rather than us signing a real talent. I just think he's a very limited player. It's all opinions though. Given he's not prolific, I'd expect a lot more to his game. If he's just going to be a target man to pop up with goals, he needs to be hitting 20+ every year to justify his inclusion. He's not even close to that and when you couple that with his injury record, I'm amazed others aren't seeing the same thing. I wish him the best but i don't want to see him in a spurs shirt again.

For some reason the potential acquisition of Solanke is giving me feint Barren Dent vibes
