----------------------------------------------------------------------
unless the whole of the world agrees on a calendar, they cannot logically just extend contracts of players arbitrarily.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The angle you miss is that the player won't be taking any risk.
Any player whose contract lapses will not be able to appear for another club before the season is resumed and completed.
They will be able to extend their contract until the end of the season, whenever that may be.
If they don't then the other option is to stay at home collecting no wages and wait for the season to resume and finish at which point they shall then be able to appear for another club.
I imagine an overwhelming majority could agree to sign on until the season is finished. Even if you want to leave, it doesn't hurt to pick up the money before actually leaving.
Furthermore, everyone will be broke, players included and a ready made temporary contract will look delicious.
Hope my explanation makes sense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll be amazed if that is how it pans out. The legalities involved are ridiculous. Some players will have already signed contracts for a new club next season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Key word being next season, not the season.

You keep talking about the powers in football, peks, like they’re homogeneous. UEFA have already reneged on earlier comments regarding completion of the season.
Each league, and government directives, are different around Europe. What one league may do may have no influence on another.
Germany, for example, have said they’ll continue games at the start of May. But the Dutch have come out with this today.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok but there’s been no talk of voiding
Like I said this opens the door to seasons being cancelled now.
They will try to restart the season but as soon as one player or member of staff tests positive then what
I think we’re done
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm curious as to why you're okay with the leagues being cancelled but not voided. You do realise that no titles will be decided..

Pranks haven't you maintained from the start that it would be played to a finish?
Regardless of whenever that may be.
Maybe not publicly, but if what Bales has posted about is accurate - regarding UEFA coefficients for European places - it would indicate it’s been discussed. Logically it doesn’t take a genius to work out that it’s something that would have been discussed anyway, as it’s a decision that may, or may not, need to be made.
Your arrogant tone to the notion of this happening is unfounded really. Just as you said all seasons would be finished you’ve been made to look wrong. Making declarative statements regarding how this will all be resolved is dumb when you consider all the variables.

Still much fairer than voidingbyhe season and reverting to last season.
We agree no conclusion will be entirely fair.
All people are doing here is giving reasons why calling the season is unfair without suggesting what is more fair than that.
Also, UEFA will likely use co efficient as and when necessary, not as a blanket rule. That's why they will listen to special cases because solutions will be tailor made to a specific league as far as possible. There won't be one fell swoop decision the way it's looking.

I’m pretty sure they said that clubs would be denied entry into European competition if they cancelled their leagues, Mamba. Though I’m not 100% if that was an official stance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is ridiculous though? What if a country says we finish this league in 2021? How are they going to factor that in? And what if a country says we are not going to risk lives. Are UEFA really going to punish a country that puts safety and lives before football.
I think UEFA needs to fack off with these threats considering the drama that has hit the world.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They’ve said it may need to happen in special cases, so they’ve obviously soften their stance on this.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
As the days pass its looking more and more likely that titles will be awarded IMO.

Contracts are a huge issue for clubs. To the point that FIFA have proposed them being extended.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pie in the sky. You can't make a player do that. Why is a player going to risk his next move and contract at his new club to play for a few weeks for a club he is about to leave?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You are just glossing over the employment law/legalities involved. Very naive.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
it was reported in Italy also that UEFA may use co-efficients too allocate places for next season of current seasons r not completed.
would mean Lazio, for example, not only do not get the opportunity too win the Championship, but they also miss out on next seasons CL
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That won’t happen, pranks knows best as the football powers have said.

If it’s not possible to complete the season, ending with league standings as they are currently, is fairer than voiding an entire season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t agree. A lot can happen in 1/4 of a season
Better to just hit the reset button and start again.
