I'd be happy if my team won the league cup and didn't win any other trophies in a season. It's a trophy, it's worth something.
The club world cup is just nothing really. Can anyone even name the past winners of the last 10 club world cups without looking it up?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
same with the last ten league cups.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm sure I can manage that:
2020 - City
2019 - City
2018 - City
2017 - United
2016 - City
2015 - Chelsea

Nobody really cares about the world club cup, though.
I remember our league cup wins far more fondly than our club world cup win. FIFA have been trying to make it a thing for years but nobody really cares.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I really enjoyed it and the players looked made up. Worth more money than the league cup too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Footballers look made up when they win the charity shield as well. It makes money as FIFA are trying to make it a big thing. But it’s not.

I’m not even sure why the two are being compared anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Proceeds to compare the two by inventing hypothetical and unlikely scenario.
And that's the whole point of the CWC, getting there is the hard part, winning it once you're there is much easier, and barely registers with anyone (except this season, when it appears to have taken on legendary status.
Hard to get into, easy to win, very much like the old European Cup.

Don't think the CWC is bigger than the LC.
But & it's a big but, any team can have a fortunate run in the LC and win it, hell in 2013 league two Bradford City reached the final.
To even play in the CWC you must first win one of the 2 major European trophies then beat the winner of the other one (European Super Cup, or European Charity Shield if you prefer).
The fact still remains you have to beat some of the best teams in Europe to even be in with a chance of 'qualifying' for the CWC. That gives it more prestige than the LC in my opinion.
What I do find funny is the majority of 'fans' belittling the CWC are fans of teams never to even win one of the European trophies and as such could never, ever hope be called World Champions.
Only 3 English teams have reached the final, United (2008), Chelsea (2012) & Liverpool (2019) with Chelsea being the only one not to win.
I know this comment will be seen as a big 'bite' by most but Liverpool are now Super Premier European Champions of the World until another team wins the CL then they will have to make do with only being Super Premier League Champions of the World.
With that in mind, 1 from me.

Man Utd fans are the most hypocrite fans. They change their opinions depending on what suits them. So, there is no point of having this debate. May be not so much noticeable here but can be widely seen in other forums. Started calling Liverpool LiVARpool and Penaltypool but had to stop when it was revealed they had most penalties and most VAR decsions. It was them who said Liverpool would be found out when VAR used. Changed their openion again when Liverpool had no competition. Neither title is prestigious in any way lol.
The League Cup should be scrapped and the CWC should be a 4-yearly summer bonanza with the 32 biggest teams in the world.

Could have killed Woodward and his family but quick to call Liverpool all sort of things.
