Hope you are fit and well and have a long fruitful life ahead of you.

You've seen both sides of religion so obviously have more first hand knowledge of what goes on.

In my eyes all religion is based on control and exploitation of the masses. As with all religions it's scare the parents and get the young in when they are impressionable to brainwash them.

That's why you get fanatics, they know no different and what grinds my gears even more is when you get those defending their religion because they know nothing different.

When the pressure is on to get your kids to follow a religion at a very early age or you become a bad person in their eyes then it becomes to me more of a cult than a religion.

The school unequivocally apologizes for using a totally inappropriate image in a recent religious studies lesson

The is the crux of the matter for me - to disguise between ‘Religion’ and those that have ‘a faith’ and try to live it out

There is a huge difference - one is a man-created institution that is built on control, abuse and power the other is an internal/spiritual journey that hopefully inspires a person to be outward looking and to do good in the world

That’s where I am with the whole thing anyway

I agree, I like your philosophy. I really admire people who have a faith and use it positively to benefit others. Unfortunately in my experience it’s been used for anything but.

I feel sorry for the teacher hung out to dry by his cowardly boss. In fact his life has been put in danger by it.

that teacher is guilty of abuse.

pure and simple and should be done for it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
All the scuuum outside shouting for him to be killed all should be done for numerous offences.

It will never happen though because of their religious beliefs.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
No one shouted for him to be killed

They want him to be sacked. He knew what he was doing in a school where 70% are Muslim. Good to see a peaceful protest take place. A few might have gone over the top but it is reaching a conclusion
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Shut up you facking phanny. The conclusion is him and his family being terrorized by a bunch of deluded religious nut jobs.

So pure speculation about death threats then. Understandable for his family to be worried but no one has been threatened so stop reading Daily Mail and other far right media outlets.

Thank you

And I totally agree with you on your point of the spineless management of the school

Rather than condemn the guy, they should have been congratulating him on doing his job and getting his pupils to think, debate and work out for themselves what they believe and why they believe it

Surely this is what education is all about, free speech and getting the young folk of today to think feeling for themselves - rather than be conditioned by fanatical extremist views such as their parents

The school should be backing the bloody guy not condemning him - totally spineless snowflakes

People often say it's a minority that spoil it and in terms of major violence it is. However with this particular subject the issue goes way beyond the violent minority, it shows time and time again that peoples brains have been altered to this extreme pov (whether they become violent or simply fail to stand up to the issue).

No doubt there are many who internally have the common sense to realise a picture is a picture and condemn the violence but very few are brave enough to question why this has to be such a sore subject. "It says not to" is the argument that's lead to brutal murders, FFS grow up.

This is the religions problem and only people of the faith force chance for the better. Whether down to fear or simple lack of desire things don't look like changing any time soon.

The mob outside the school are typical extremist Muslim fanatics - I’m sure the constant banging of their heads on the floor as loosened a few screws in their noggins

If they spent a bit less time doing that - they might not be so angry and frustrated - can’t be good for them

Well the education secretary has referenced that there were threats made against the teacher. He wouldn't have said that without info from the cops.

Religion has just become a pathetic excuse for people to try and justify abhorrent behaviour and dodgy criminal acts. Alot of them just want to cause pointless mayhem and trouble because they've nothing better to do. T

----------------------------------------------------------------------
And what about all the political and ideological rioting and criminal damage we've been seeing?

These political ideologies are itself a religion.

I find it absolutely staggering that people still believe in a God, let alone that said belief gives them the confidence to demand someone's life be ruined for disparaging their fantasy.

Yep. It’s mind boggling, unfathomable. Complete brainwashing from birth passed on from one generation to the next, the root of so much evil. I’ve no time for it whatsoever.
