No quotes their to say Ole brought in the Academty and U23 staff as someone claimed.
Ole himself has said we have 2 No 1's. Its not a poaition you rotate.

I'd mark him 5 for achievement and 7 for the rest.
That makes him just quite a good manager at this stage, and if there's no further improvement this term that's probably not good enough for a club of United's stature.
I suspect there's the usual element of Teddy throwing from the people marking him lower.

It's a breakdown of the different facets of management. To give high scores for everything would be delusional—all managers have weaknesses.

Elvis, I give up mate. It was a valiant effort all round but there's no reasoning with ignorance. I don't know why I bite every time, probably because I just enjoy talking football so think "bah f*ck it".

Well, it is, as he brought in his own team that he believed would help to better develop the youth. Jose apparently didn't really give much attention to it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who is this team Ole brought in?
Where did you get this info from?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Neil Wood
Nicky Butt
Quinton Fortune
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He brought them from Molde did he?
They're not his 'own team'.
You seem to forget there are other people behind the scenes taking care of this stuff.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I haven't forgotten anything. Nor have I given Ole sole credit for the youth setup. It is a joint effort, of which Ole is part. But the usual morons refuse to admit that he has anything to do with the youth setup. Despite the fact there were quite a few changes in terms of processes, setup and personnel right after he became permanent manager. Must have been a coincidence I guess. Nothing to do with Ole.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The way you talk makes it seem like Ole is some sort of expert troubleshooter who the club hired to solve its problems. When in fact he's from a small league and failed at Cardiff. So while he has a say in certain things, the club haven't given him full control—they're working as a team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think that the club hired Ole because he was a safe option that the fans would get behind whilst they looked for someone long term. He then did a good job and quite possibly put forwards some ideas that he believed would return the club to its former glories - or set it on the right path.
Of course it is a team effort. I have never said any different. But the focus on youth comes from the top down and Ole is at the top. It is an area that stagnated under Jose because he didn't really care. He used the kids that were already good enough, but wasn't really looking further down the conveyor bely, as he never stays long enough to reap its rewards. If it was a concern then Sbragia would have been removed from his post much sooner than he was.

One of the reasons Jose was sacked was because of his alck of interest in the yotuh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I highly doubt it was one of the reasons. Jose brought McT through, and Ole brought Greenwood through—what's the difference?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was talking about the youth setup. He did bring some though but showed a lack of interest in the long term youth setup and developing it further. Which was why we made such a flurry of young signings when he left.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nothing to do with Ole though.

If we're going down the route of Ole literally not hiring the staff, then it's also impossible for him to be responsible for the signings, because he doesn't work in HR, he physically can't be the one who signs the players in to the company.

That makes him just quite a good manager at this stage, and if there's no further improvement this term that's probably not good enough for a club of United's stature.

One of the reasons Jose was sacked was because of his alck of interest in the yotuh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I highly doubt it was one of the reasons. Jose brought McT through, and Ole brought Greenwood through—what's the difference?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was talking about the youth setup. He did bring some though but showed a lack of interest in the long term youth setup and developing it further. Which was why we made such a flurry of young signings when he left.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nothing to do with Ole though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, it is, as he brought in his own team that he believed would help to better develop the youth. Jose apparently didn't really give much attention to it.

"I haven't forgotten anything. Nor have I given Ole sole credit for the youth setup. It is a joint effort"
reply:
" the club haven't given him full control—they're working as a team."
Am I missing something here?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's just the way Elvis sometimes talks about it like Ole is a manager and DoF applying expert changes across the club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is that why you ignored what he actually wrote?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm talking about what he usually writes. His recent comment was more specific, so cleared up any confusion.

The stupidity of these 2 is astounding, it really is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
At this point I just think it's attention seeking.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As far as what I write, it's simply not having my head buried in the sand.

If we're going down the route of Ole literally not hiring the staff, then it's also impossible for him to be responsible for the signings, because he doesn't work in HR, he physically can't be the one who signs the players in to the company.

Nobody claims Ole is the one to sign contracts with them though, where as Elvis claimed Ole hired a team of coaches for the academy and youth yeams.
