But as I said earlier, it would be inhuman for the decision to be reversed now. Massi needs to resign and the FIA need to admitted got it wrong.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed; I really don’t know what the right answer is.
Max deserves it over the course of the season; Lewis deserved it today and therefore should’ve won the whole thing today.
If Masi resigns, Merc aren’t going to take that as a consolation prize.
Re-race next weekend!!!! 😝

What a way to destroy what had been an amazing season. Massi has to resign. Mercedes have a strong case to sue the FIA for financial compensation, but it would be inhuman to overturn the result now, however unjust it is.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Financial compensation? For what? They won constuctors, which pays the millions
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Having the 8ndividiual champion for your brand is worth just as much
Easy solution - null and void this race then retrospectively disqualify Hamilton from the season for the Silverstone crash.
Everyone's happy.
Result must be overturned of course

Mercedes pit stop decision was forced based on Lewis track position when the safety car was deployed
We heard Bono and Lewis discuss things, and they thought the race could stop under the SC, but they were not sure
Mercedes pit stop decision in the middle of the race, wasn't forced...and that's the reason why Lewis had very old hard tyres still on his car come the last lap
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They k ee that the rules would prevent a restart under the safety car. But Massi has other ideas about the rule book.
On a side note, how much better is Perez as your right hand man than Valteri? Even in his post-race interview, he just comes across as so timid. Not an ounce of fight in the guy!

Stop blaming other folk for Mercedes taking the gamble of keeping Lewis out on hard tyres for 40 laps, then suffering bad luck at the timing of the safety car.
The only thing Masi did, that made a big difference, was the call on the lapped cars
Whatever the outcome of this race and championship, you can tell it's Yanks who own and run the sport now.
Prioritising entertainment and (by extension) sales over sporting integrity.
I'm happy to admit, I came into F1 season during the hype of the championship battle. I'm been encapsulated. I can't pretend to know the rules line by line.
Byewis was impeccable today. From my view, he was majorly let down by his team. All he needed to do was follow what RB did? Then Bottas, I mean where do I start?! The bloke is a disgrace. Nowhere to be seen today and played no part whatsoever. Shouldn't be anywhere near a top team in F1. The bloke is a disgrace.
On the flip side, Perez did his job well when it really mattered, albeit in the end I'm not sure it mattered.
But then onto F1. It seems they changed their mind midway through. And also allowed or to favour a straight race. Surely you can't do this just to favour a last lap race?!
It doesn't sit right with me to be honest. RB will take the win and the glory that comes with it. But I think F1 let itself down. I think alot will tune it and its going to be a booster for the sport, but it will come round to bite itself one day. People will alway remmeber how F1 manipulates it power to make excitement.

The rules made it a sure thing for a Hamilton victory by starting out but then there was Massi.

There are two appeals here.
Max overtaking Lewis behind SC
FIA letting lapped cars pass
Could get interesting, but what is exactly said about overtaking? Car length or a nose length

No need to get aggressive. I made a very valid and factual point. I agree the drivers championship is far more prestigious, and probably in the end financially worth more, but the facts are clear in that the prize money is more for constructors.

They did not know if racing was going to restart or not...they did not know this
Racing could've restarted with the lapped cars still between them, and with blue flags, Verstappen might still have been able to catch and pass...we will never know
Stop blaming other folk for Mercedes taking the gamble of keeping Lewis out on hard tyres for 40 laps, then suffering bad luck at the timing of the safety car.
The only thing Masi did, that made a big difference, was the call on the lapped cars
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They did, they knew that by the time the cars had unlapped themselves plus the additional requires lap after the safety car that the race would be o er. Look up the rules.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes they did know this....by which point it was too late for Lewis to come in and change his tyres anyway, so it's completely moot
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not moot, had they known the rules were gonna be burned up in smoke they would have had no choice but to bring in Hamilton.
The rules made it a sure thing for a Hamilton victory by starting out but then there was Massi.

Why would he change his tyres if he was about to win the race behind the safety car?

There are two appeals here.
Max overtaking Lewis behind SC
FIA letting lapped cars pass
Could get interesting, but what is exactly said about overtaking? Car length or a nose length

What a way to destroy what had been an amazing season. Massi has to resign. Mercedes have a strong case to sue the FIA for financial compensation, but it would be inhuman to overturn the result now, however unjust it is.
,
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Financial compensation? For what? They won constuctors, which pays the millions
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Having the 8ndividiual champion for your brand is worth just as much
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The constructors championship is worth more than drivers championship when it comes down to £$€
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Feck me man what do Mercded make.thi k big picture ffs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No need to get aggressive. I made a very valid and factual point. I agree the drivers championship is far more prestigious, and probably in the end financially worth more, but the facts are clear in that the prize money is more for constructors.

Any part of the car being ahead is overtaking.
