‘Dave the Save’ or whoever you are… most people don’t buy products as part of a conscious decision to buy something because it is made by the sponsor of a football club.
No one implied they did and it has absolutely no relevance to the point.

I'd venture a guess that he's RDD's younger brother, the smarter one.

United chose to end the teamviewer shirt deal
___
Wasn't it teamviewer that stopped the sponsorship deal
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Manchester United has the option to buy back the rights to its shirt-front sponsorship from TeamViewer after the German software company said it would reduce its role with the Premier League team, according to Bloomberg.
It appears they could no longer afford the original deal as shirt front sponsors
----------------------------------------------------------------------
United decided to cancel early
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because teamviewer couldn't afford it apparently
Wonder were they damaged by the European super league protests when the UTD fans targeted them

A TV interview sounds like the worst idea i've ever heard.
Remember Prince Andrew well it would be every bit as bad, Greenwood appears to be even less intelligent so it would be complete car crash TV.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Greenwood's would have to be more of an apology and an explanation the effects of counselling are having with a huge dose of humility for it to be even half worth doing, I think it'd be how sincere he looked that might make it work (not sure even then).
Prince Andrew going on TV to announce he wasn't as noncey as we all thought actually was never going to work.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He would have to explain the audio, why she then posted it? why the police got involved? how it took so long? how they got back together when he was banned from contacting her?
An absolute mine field for even an intelligent and articulate person to form and provide a cohesive story that leaves him in a good light or even just a more understanding light.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're absoutely correct. It'd have to be framed the right way and be a massive mea culpa, which I can't see happening anyway. He's finished with United, and the only people that seem to want him back are the overseas mob on twitter
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How would United know if the interview had worked or not?
How would they insist he don't unless he was to be reinstated?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Market research.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly. It's a ridiculous suggestion. As if the club would let fans decide if he can stay on or not.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not what I said. As I suggested earlier, you clearly don't understand marketing or brand management
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I do. But yoh don't seem to have thought this through.
If you were in charge of this interview project, how would you get it done. I'm talking stage by stage.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wouldn't do it. I'd cut my losses and try and sell him.
RDD’s gone so deep into this Greenwood defence he’s now questioning the very concept of marketing.

You need to learn to read. I haven't said I am entitled to an explanation or that I want one. I have said that I believe it is the only way they he plays for the club again; if some kind of explanation is put forwards that can sway the public opinion that is very much against him.

Elvis in this country you have to prove guilt not innocence. Being innocent isn't a charge
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Youre talking about a court of law. That's irrelevant now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So where else is there?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Court of opinion. It is going to be hard for United to bring Mason back into the team unless the public opinion of him changes massively.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Court of opinion. AKA vigilante. I'm sure he might get what's coming, one day
Anyway, as I said. I'm sure United will be very aware of this when they decide his future.
It all getting very silly now
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No I'm not talking about him getting battered by someone. What I am saying is that the general opinion of the public is that Mason is very bad person. And that makes it very difficult for United to bring him back into the first team, even without considering the potential financial implications. Unless Mason can do something to sway the publics opinion on him, I don't think he plays for United again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Most people don't give a toss either way.
Most United fans will accept
He is young and immature.
Their are things we don't know about what happened.
It was dropped following an investigation.
They are back together and expecting.
Nobody on here is willing to commit to not following United again should he return, so why do you think it would destroy the club?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't say that it will destroy the club. You've got me mistaken with someone else.
And I don't know a single United fan in real life that wants Mason back as things stand. To say that no-one gives a toss is the complete opposite of my experience. Some would be happy/ok with him coming back from these boards. Aside from that, the only people that want him back tend to be from Africa and post their opinions on social media.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some on here would be fine with it. That's the only measure we have.
How many fans do you know who have said they would boycott the club if he played again?
You have been very outspoken on this topic. Would you give up United if he played again?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think that the loss of fans is the main financial issue. Sponsorship and damage to reputation would be the biggest issue. Plenty of sponsors have dropped Mason. And we have had United sponsors stating that they are monitoring the situation. If Mason comes back there is going to be uproar from various women's domestic abuse groups and I'd expect the United women's team too. You seem to think that sponsors can just be replaced like that. But if they are replaced, it will be at a lower rate than the sponsor that they are replacing. The United commercial team has worked very hard and done a good job at finding those sponsorship deals and getting the best deals. A damaged reputation gives them less leverage when it comes to negotiating new deals with potential new sponsors.
There is a decision to be made as to whether the potential financial loss is worth more than Mason is. And that is without considering the club's reputation and moral standing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why would sponsors have an issue, if the fans (their customers) didn't? All they want is their brand to be seen by the clubs TV audience / online following.
Would you honestly not buy Adidas products if United kept Greenwood?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sales drop when a brands reputation is damaged. I mean, it really is that simple. If you want to waste your time arguing against that then crack on. Maybe you should contact all the big companies out there and let them know that they are wasting millions on marketing and brand management, because, you know, people just don't care.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Serious question. Do you buy products BECAUSE of their affiliation with United, and would you stop if Greenwood played again?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
if people didnt then sponsors wouldnt exist !!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Answer my.question
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yes.
I have tried products on the basis of them sponsoring my team. I never tried Carling til my club was sponsored by them. wasnt for me granted but I still tried it.
I had never even heard of 32red before they sponsored my team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, that's sad 😁
Would you stop watching your favourite TV show, or drinking your favourite drink if they sponsored United and Grenwood played again?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
no why would I do that ?
I tried Carling .. hadnt done so before, my club started sponsoring them to I decdied to try and see what its like , wasnt much of a fan.
And 32red wasnt known to me, I only have one betting account and dont do it much. Now I know of them.
I dont understand how that makes me sad?
And no if one of my favourite products was to be sponsor my teams rivals it wouldnt stop me from using that product. However if I wasnt bothered (take the carling example) if I liked two beers the same amount and one sponsored my rivals and another sponsored my team .. id be inclined to go with the one that sponsored my team?
again why is that sad or seem strange top you?

Good. I think you should accept that you aren't entitled to the explanation you think necessary for him to come back, and will have to trust in the clubs decision.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You need to learn to read. I haven't said I am entitled to an explanation or that I want one. I have said that I believe it is the only way they he plays for the club again; if some kind of explanation is put forwards that can sway the public opinion that is very much against him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You litetally said the only way he can play again is if he offers an explanation that changes the public (your) opinion of him.

‘Dave the Save’ or whoever you are… most people don’t buy products as part of a conscious decision to buy something because it is made by the sponsor of a football club.
No one implied they did and it has absolutely no relevance to the point.

I'd venture a guess that he's RDD's younger brother, the smarter one.

United chose to end the teamviewer shirt deal
___
Wasn't it teamviewer that stopped the sponsorship deal
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Manchester United has the option to buy back the rights to its shirt-front sponsorship from TeamViewer after the German software company said it would reduce its role with the Premier League team, according to Bloomberg.
It appears they could no longer afford the original deal as shirt front sponsors
----------------------------------------------------------------------
United decided to cancel early
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because teamviewer couldn't afford it apparently
Wonder were they damaged by the European super league protests when the UTD fans targeted them

A TV interview sounds like the worst idea i've ever heard.
Remember Prince Andrew well it would be every bit as bad, Greenwood appears to be even less intelligent so it would be complete car crash TV.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Greenwood's would have to be more of an apology and an explanation the effects of counselling are having with a huge dose of humility for it to be even half worth doing, I think it'd be how sincere he looked that might make it work (not sure even then).
Prince Andrew going on TV to announce he wasn't as noncey as we all thought actually was never going to work.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He would have to explain the audio, why she then posted it? why the police got involved? how it took so long? how they got back together when he was banned from contacting her?
An absolute mine field for even an intelligent and articulate person to form and provide a cohesive story that leaves him in a good light or even just a more understanding light.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're absoutely correct. It'd have to be framed the right way and be a massive mea culpa, which I can't see happening anyway. He's finished with United, and the only people that seem to want him back are the overseas mob on twitter
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How would United know if the interview had worked or not?
How would they insist he don't unless he was to be reinstated?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Market research.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly. It's a ridiculous suggestion. As if the club would let fans decide if he can stay on or not.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not what I said. As I suggested earlier, you clearly don't understand marketing or brand management
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I do. But yoh don't seem to have thought this through.
If you were in charge of this interview project, how would you get it done. I'm talking stage by stage.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wouldn't do it. I'd cut my losses and try and sell him.

However if I wasnt bothered (take the carling example) if I liked two beers the same amount and one sponsored my rivals and another sponsored my team .. id be inclined to go with the one that sponsored my team?
again why is that sad or seem strange top you?

no why would I do that ?

If they were similar I'd go for the cheapest.

Yeah most would as would I. makes sense.

United ripped up their £40m sponsorhip deal with Aeroflot following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Do you think they thought it might damage their brand?

Why would he throw his missus under the bus with no guarantee United let him back?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ive already said that I don't think he will throw her under the bus full stop.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
