It doesn't really say what you are suggesting about handball.
It says players are no longer at risk of receiving a red card for accidental handball in the penalty area...doesn't say an accidental handball in the area won't be given as a penalty

He was wrong in my opinion in having VAR involved at all to be perfectly honest. It’s become far too influential in our game and has gone way beyond its remit.
My opinion of course.
Phone off now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
again your basing that opinion on thinking that Beaton was the one that requested VAR without not having a clue what conversations were had or who requested the review.
If it was Beaton constantly saying the ref review this , review that then you may have a point but you dont have a clue so cant IMO.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you seriously trying to suggest it might have been the onfield ref that wanted VAR involved? The guy who was clearly happy to give a yellow for the Yang challenge and move on? The guy that clearly saw nothing worthy of a Hearts pen and was happily letting play continue, until VAR intervened an eternity later?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
im saying we dont know. to suggest he did or didnt is exactly the same.
For all you know he gave a yellow based on his perspective at the time and place and upon review changed that, either is plausible, neither is deniable.
Celtic fans are saying it definitive that Beaton made the decision to review and some saying it was to influence the refs decision, some even suggesting it was Beaton making decisions.
Rodgers actually contradicted himself, blaming Beaton for bringing things to VAR review for incidents he didnt agree with but then agreed its the ruling at fault and needs to be reviewed.
Apparently based on that same meeting live broadcast of var audio is not on the table.
They did mention the trial of refs explaining the var decision which they did at the women's world cup. I actually thought that was quite good.

On a different subject and hopefully one most of us can agree upon (although I'm sure there will be some 'free-thinkers' out there), apart from the kids game taking place on the pitch, what a frightful spectacle that was yesterday.
Empty seats all over the stadium, banners and segregation sections behind one of the goals. The game is crying out for money and the clubs are throwing it away.
Time something was done. It's desperate stuff.

You're having some day on here 🤣🤣
You've been sitting there for years being utterly gullible like most of your fellow bears and thinking 'one day the Tims will be gullible and I'll really let them have it'.
Problem is you're wrong. The Celtic fans are wise to Rodgers. Most want him gone. Nobody is being kidder.
Nobody is being kidded by his attempted deflection. We're talking about the officials because of their performance not because of Brendan.
Enjoy your day though. It's distracting from wheels starting to come off the wagon on Saturday at Ibrox.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is that what I have been sitting here thinking 'for years'!?
You guys have the strangest fantasies.
All I am doing is saying what I am seeing. Barely a word about the game. All about John Beaton - a man who didnt award a penalty against celtic or send a celtic player off.
But that doesnt matter. It was all John Beatons fault.
Because he was pictured in a pub smiling about 5 years ago
Gullible AF man. Brendans little puppets on a string.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Permanently damaged🤣🤣🤣🤣
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Think HH is living in an alternative universe if he thinks we’re all happy with BR or yesterday. Hard to get too stuck into the actual performance though when we were down to 10 men after 15 mins, as all plans are kinda out the window at that point. Still didn’t see Hearts scoring until their “pen” out of feck all. Game’s a bogey at that point, with virtually nothing on the bench.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I dont think Celtic fans will be happy with yesterdays performance or result. Thats not what I am saying at all.
I am simply saying no-one is talking about the game out with the refereeing incidents.
And that is because Brendan has set the narrative that the refereeing incidents were the only part of the game that counted and they were all John Beatons fault.
Celtic fans seem to be right behind Brendan on that issue at least. Which will delight Brendan because its a great smokescreen for any failings he or his team actually had yesterday.
Haven’t watched the highlights of any of the weekend games, and only heard the end of the first half and all the second half on the radio of our game. From the clips I’ve seen, Yang bought the foul on him for the penalty by cutting across the hearts player. Wasn’t much in it, and you’d be disappointed to concede it-can see why it was given. The sending off looks really harsh. Still frames don’t help Yang, but I thought yellow would have been fair enough. The Hearts penalty is never a penalty.
From what I heard, we seemed to stay in the game without really troubling the Hearts defence. Playing more than 3/4 of the game with 10 men at Tynecastle didn’t give me any belief that we would get even a point. We missed McGregor more for drive and leadership than anything else. Said yesterday that even before the game I wasn’t confident of a result, so not overly surprised. Our conversion rate on penalties is appalling though. No idea why there’s debate about the offside goal for hearts that was chopped off. He was either onside or he was offside. They must have shown the lines to prove he was off.
Only seen clips of the rangers penalty online-I’m not sure what causes Silva to jump with both feet in the air, and the only angle I’ve seen is pretty inconclusive-but there’s no way 2 players are challenging a rangers player in the box who gets that much airtime without a penalty being given.
Similarly, the Casey challenge doesn’t look great from the 1 angle I’ve seen-but don’t know why McAusland is challenging for the ball with his foot as high as he is.
Irrespective of performance, Rodgers is right to bring up the use of VAR. The red card completely changes the game. It was still there to be won, but it makes things a whole lot more difficult. From what was said, we still were the more dominant team for a fair bit of the first half, and the stats suggest we weren’t battered after that. No idea though without seeing it.
Also said yesterday that of the 2 teams, we won a watch with the rangers result. I don’t think anyone saw Motherwell getting anything from that game at Ibrox, whereas there would have been plenty predicting a more difficult game for us.

Best for all parties.
Ridiculous in this day and age we have these cretins start to influence who can play without fear and who can’t.
And to add insult to injury, Lawwell will see this a huge benefit to the club (‘s coffers)
Celtic are appealing Yang’s red card. It won’t be rescinded as there’s been too many errors that they’ve admitted to recently.
We’re also querying the use of VAR during the game yesterday and the decisions made.

Audio is available to all clubs on request. They’re also released periodically through the season.
Why would we support a request for 1 individual recording to be released when it’s nothing to do with us, when any club can get access to it whenever they want?

Irrespective of performance, Rodgers is right to bring up the use of VAR. The red card completely changes the game. It was still there to be won, but it makes things a whole lot more difficult. From what was said, we still were the more dominant team for a fair bit of the first half, and the stats suggest we weren’t battered after that. No idea though without seeing it.
Also said yesterday that of the 2 teams, we won a watch with the rangers result. I don’t think anyone saw Motherwell getting anything from that game at Ibrox, whereas there would have been plenty predicting a more difficult game for us.

Was sure at start of season Hearts had sold out all their season tickets - with them doing so well just now surprised that there were so many empty seats.

It’s getting a bloody joke now to be honest, but what can clubs do?
They’ll be at the same gig next season.

Don't want to get in to politics and aware people will think I'm at the WUM but completely agree with this. I'm amazed Celtic have allowed them to dictate this situation and showed such little backing to the player. In this day and age its a horrible thing to see.

I imagine what we won’t do is release numerous demanding statements, and then go squealing to fan media when we leave the meeting.

Audio is available to all clubs on request. They’re also released periodically through the season.
Why would we support a request for 1 individual recording to be released when it’s nothing to do with us, when any club can get access to it whenever they want?

"chats" not chat, like I said if all audio was available to everyone then perhaps we wouldnt need to query the use as we would all already know.
