Think pretty obvious now if it doesn't go ahead the plan is to reschedule rather than look at an alternative venue.
Apparently can't play at Tannadice as its not VAR enabled. Not sure why Broadwood was suggested as an alternative as would think it would be the same there but any move of the game needs to have VAR facilities so essentially another Premiership ground or Hampden.

What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen Lochee-bound swallow?
that something that needs to be looked at ..... a new rule that a club has to meet certain standards or follow certain practices for their pitch, failure to do so should be a forfeit of the game being played at home.

I wouldn't be in a position to quote the rules but thats the explanation that was given as to why they couldn't just move it to Tannadice.
I'd think it highly unlikely they would play at a non VAR venue given some of the controversy around referees this season. If an incorrect decision was made that VAR could have intervened in and it influenced the result there would be chaos. Can't see that being allowed.

i think thats the explanation that clyde 1 came up with?
I know games can defo be played without VAR, a couple of the games this season started without VAR and under the understanding that it might not be available for the whole match,
I know there have been occasions where VAR has been down or not working temporarily and games have continued but not sure about starting with knowledge it would be out for the full game. But will take your word for that as I don't know enough about the rules.
Regardless though I can't see a situation where they set a game up knowing there will be no VAR available. The conspiracy theories from both sides, particularly if a wrong decision is made within the game that VAR could have helped with, would make it ill advised. I can't see them doing it.

there was 100% games that started without it .. a deayed kick off for a few mins whilst they communicated it was down and then the game kicked off with an announcement over the tannoy that VAR is not available and we will be informed it it returns , then about 10 mins we got another announcement that VAR was back up and running.
the deadline for the game happening is next wed is that correct?
At what point should Dundee start getting punished for this carry on and forfeit games?
It's not just because we are playing them, it was a shambles at the weekend, think it's been four games called off, and another 2 now including the game at the weekend that are in real danger of it, or are being played on a pitch that is substandard but being used because SPFL dont want the fixtures headache
If their pitch is $hite, it's their issue and they should suffer the consequences
Copied from the SPFL rules:
Pitch Condition
H11 Each Club shall ensure that the field of play at its Registered Ground and at any other ground at which it is the Home Club for a League Match or Play-Off Match is:-
H11.1 smooth and in good condition and repair; and
H11.2 equipped with an efficient and effective drainage system so that it cannot become unplayable due to flooding.
H12 The Board may, without prejudice to any sanction that might be imposed on a Club for failure to comply with Rule H11, require the Club concerned to take such steps within such time and on such conditions as the Board shall specify, if the Board is not satisfied that the Club concerned is complying or has complied in all respects with Rule H11.
To my knowledge, there hasn't been flood, it's only been heavy rain, yet the drainage they have can't cope with it
Breach of the rules?
If this game is cancelled, I will eat my hat. And swallow every bunnet on here. No way is it getting called off.
Just seen someone post a video from walking round the pitch. The pitch isn't even fully covered!
It looks waterlogged round the side of the pitch and if the rain continues up to kick off I can't see it going ahead. At the moment looks ok but with heavy rain forecast for the rest of the day I can't see how the pitch holds up without being covered.
Bloody Rangers trying to get the game called off until next week so Dundee are already confirmed top 6 so have nothing to play for. A disgrace. 4 years ago during COVID we had glorious sunshine all April. Now that Rangers need a game called off, it's been raining for weeks. Hardly a coincidence.
