Didn’t the UK have the fastest rate of growth in the G7 for the first 6 months of this year?
And now we have the second worst!!!!
‘Britain faces years of “muted” growth and higher borrowing costs after Rachel Reeves’ maiden Budget, Moody’s has warned.’
‘In a note to investors, the leading credit rating agency warned the Chancellor’s decisions will put government debt “on a slow upward trajectory” and cast doubt on the credibility of new debt rules meant to reassure financial markets’
What happened to Labour's priorities for wealth creation and growth?
After the election lies, the welfare of the people of our country is incidental and irrelevant.

Yes but rates are set on the basis of the anticipated movement up and down in the next period.
So if the base rate is expected to go down interest rates will drop with it, and that is what has been expected, a steady fall of the base rate.
Because the budget is forecast to increase inflation, the base rate will stay higher for β΄longer / not fall so fast so mortgage rates have to factor that in.
