4 months in and it's all doom and gloom eh Dev. I'm surprised you survived 14 years of cuts to public services, austerity, Brexit, Liz Truss etc etc.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
In all honesty Dev and Red, how is it possible to have a serious conversation with brainwashed neanderthals like fanniefields and Hector ! I ask you
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Uh-oh there he, Starmer fan chipping in with inane nothings. Good job wee man

You know how to read graphs, right?

Looks like someone sprayed the green shots of Q1 and Q2 with weed killer.

I do know how to read graphs, max 0.7% in 12 months.
Let's keep the status quo.

Typical Annie crying about ‘Truss’, ‘Brexit’ and all the other guff, whilst sitting there in his caravilla in sunny Spain! πŸ₯±

Didn’t the UK have the fastest rate of growth in the G7 for the first 6 months of this year?

And now we have the second worst!!!!

‘Britain faces years of “muted” growth and higher borrowing costs after Rachel Reeves’ maiden Budget, Moody’s has warned.’

‘In a note to investors, the leading credit rating agency warned the Chancellor’s decisions will put government debt “on a slow upward trajectory” and cast doubt on the credibility of new debt rules meant to reassure financial markets’

What happened to Labour's priorities for wealth creation and growth?

After the election lies, the welfare of the people of our country is incidental and irrelevant.

'Guff', no things that actually happened that cost the UK economy billions and continues to do so.

You stick to your predictions of doom from your London bedsit for a grand a month, if you don't live with your parents.

You got that quote without Google yeah?

Annie's like one of those armchair fans who moans about ticket prices, while never actually buying a ticket.

His faux rage is hilarious....How dare you ruin this country I dont live in.

No wonder he doesnt GAF about how labour's budget impacts UK businesses and growth.

Well keeping the status quo is a load better than reducing it to nearly zero!

But hey, in 5 years time when all this mega investment is starting to kick in, we may get some growth again. Meanwhile, tax rises all round, to pay for the growing welfare budget

More good news.

Interest rates staying higher for longer. More pain all round, for those millions who live here and have a mortgage. Which is why Annie doesn't care.

The second/holiday home crowd that have pushed out locals in places like Devon will be gutted.

Another disingenuous comment from Dev, banks are keeping their rates higher, the interest rate set by the BofE has gone down to its lowest since last June.

Greedy banks keep rates higher, shocker!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes but rates are set on the basis of the anticipated movement up and down in the next period.

So if the base rate is expected to go down interest rates will drop with it, and that is what has been expected, a steady fall of the base rate.

Because the budget is forecast to increase inflation, the base rate will stay higher for ⁴longer / not fall so fast so mortgage rates have to factor that in.

It's funny, it's like you Labour lot don't know how economics works

Fanny clearly has no idea how it works. I was enlightening him.

That is not to say I agree with every Tory economic policy, so stop harping back to what the last lot did. It's what this lot are doing the matters now.

I simply don't understand how they preach growth and offer nothing to achieve it. In fact the opposite

That second paragraph proves you know fack all about the economy you divvy

Hey I know enough about the economy yo.know spending over £300m on a failed scheme based on ideology and division isn't a good thing. I also foresaw Brexit being bad economically and the shiiteshow that was Liz Truss and her budget.

Can you say the same Divvy Dev?

I don't understand how we've not had any notable growth in over a decade, how the national debt has hit levels not seen since the post war era and we've cut ties and isolated ourselves from our closest trading partners, the country as a whole has not had a pay rise in just under a decade and you expect immediate results from one budget, it's absolute bonkers to me.
